View Full Version : Stephen King's Involvement

LadyHitchhiker

Does dear Sai King have any involvement with our fair site?

Just wondering.

I would love it if he was.

from what I've been told he peeks in to see what's going on, but he's not involved, or at least, not openly involved. With the way thing's are going, I'll be wrong, and Matt is actually stephen King. (see that would be cool, but then it would mean I'm wrong, and that Matt isn't Matt. Don't you hate "meh" days?)

Brice
10-22-2008, 06:19 PM
Umm...Matt is NOT Stephen King.

I believe King has looked in once before approval was given regarding crosslinking our site with his. That aside, I think the only connection has been between Matt and Ms. Mod (Marsha?).

Ruthful
10-22-2008, 06:19 PM
Stephen King controls Matt through a surgically implanted biometric chip, IIRC.

LadyHitchhiker
10-22-2008, 06:21 PM
Oooooooooooh Ruthful I like that idea...

jayson
10-22-2008, 06:22 PM
My understanding is that King and Brice are twinners.

Brice
10-22-2008, 06:25 PM
:ninja:

Shhhhhh!

jayson
10-22-2008, 06:27 PM
Don't worry Brice. I think it's only a site violation if you say you're King, not if someone says it about you.

Brice
10-22-2008, 06:31 PM
Well, you didn't actually say I was. You said your understanding was that we are twinners.

jayson
10-22-2008, 06:38 PM
My understanding of the truth by R_of_G.

Brice is King's twinner, and that is the truth.

LadyHitchhiker
10-22-2008, 06:40 PM
I think Stephen King should join the L-tet. That would be the kicking-assiest siggy ever if he did.

I wonder what his sign in name would be...

Brice
10-22-2008, 06:42 PM

LadyHitchhiker
10-22-2008, 06:48 PM
LlamaKing... He would be the LlamaKing or LlamaSteve if he wanted to tone it a down a little bit. But he has a spot reserved if he'll ever join. :D

ladykatherine
10-22-2008, 06:54 PM
So if someone joins as Llamaking or Llamasteve we should get you some smelling salts?
 hehehehe.

LadyHitchhiker
10-22-2008, 08:24 PM
I would absolutely faint in the floor with excitement and laughter and confusion. Yes. Smelling salts would be quite necessary. Then the rumors would REALLY start flying about whether or not he was Stephen King.

Daghain
10-22-2008, 08:40 PM
I'm sure he's pretty busy with his "real" job.

I'm pretty sure he's looked in at least once, but AFAIK that's about it.

His "involvement" is really just that we are all SK/DT geeks and talk about him constantly.

LadyHitchhiker
10-22-2008, 08:51 PM
I wonder if I send him a form letter inviting him to the llama-tet if we would get a response.. Hmmmmmmmm... or maybe Matt can invite him...

Matt! You can be a llama too! So could you Daggs!

Or maybe send the lyrics to my new song I wrote tonight!:

If I had a million llamas
(If I had a million llamas)
I'd buy you a house
(I would buy you a house)
If I had a million llamas
(If I had a million llamas)
I'd buy you furniture for your house
(Maybe a nice chesterfield or an ottoman)
And if I had a million llamas
(If I had a million llamas)
Well, I'd buy you a Camry
(A nice Reliant automobile)
If I had a million llamas I'd buy your love

If I had a million llamas
I'd buy a billy bumbler for our yard
If I had million llamas
We could dance, it wouldn't be that hard
If I had million llamas
Maybe we could put get a nice sweater for him somewhere
You know, we could just take a walk and hang out
Like open the fridge and stuff
There would already be laid out foods for us
Like little pre-wrapped sausages and things

They have pre-wrapped sausages but they don't have pre-wrapped broccoli
Well, can you blame 'em
Uh, yeah

If I had a million llamas
(If I had a million llamas)
Well, I'd knit you a fur coat
(But not a real fur coat that's cruel)
And if I had a million llamas
(If I had a million llamas)
Well, I'd buy you an exotic pet
(Yep, like a llama or an emu)
And if I had a million llamas
(If I had a a million llamas)
Well, I'd recruit Stephen King
(Ooh, all them crazy tower folks)
And If I had a million llamas I'd buy your love

If I had a million llamas
We would ride a llama to the store
If I had a million llamas
Now, we'd save on gas and feed our pets more
If I had a million llamas
We wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner
But we would eat Kraft Dinner
Of course we would, we’d just eat more
And buy really expensive chocolate with it
That’s right, all the fanciest lin-dor chocolates!
Mmmmmm, Mmmm-Hmmm

If I had a million llamas
(If I had a million llamas)
Well, I'd buy you a green dress
(But not a real green dress, that's cruel)
And if I had a million llamas
(If I had a million llamas)
Well, I'd buy you some art
(A Picasso or a Garfunkel)
If I had a million llamas
(If I had a million llamas)
Well, I'd buy you a donkey
(Haven't you always wanted a donkey)

If I had a million llamas
I’d buy your love

If I had a million dollars, If I had a million dollars
If I had a million dollars, If I had a million dollars
If I had a million dollars
I'd be rich

LadyHitchhiker

Maybe his log-in name would be: The King...

Daghain
10-22-2008, 08:53 PM
I'm not all that sure he even looks at his OWN site.

ladykatherine
10-22-2008, 09:01 PM
hahahaha oh ladyh, you're kinda going off the deep end over there aren't ya?
it's okay...im secretely bursting inside at the mere inclination of such an event!
hehehe.

LadyHitchhiker
10-22-2008, 09:03 PM
I live for going off the deep end of silliness... And yet there is always some truth there.

We all passionately would love to see Stephen King involved here, and some of us secretly would love to see him become a Llama. Maybe with a million llamas in our group we could convince him...

I would love to see how silly Stephen King could be.

ladykatherine
10-22-2008, 09:08 PM
WAIT!
what if YOU are stephen king? it'd be the perfect disguise! raising excitement about the coming of the King and here you are already.
::gasp::
I found you out...better run while there's still time!!
:panic:
I kid, I kid. That'd just be crazy....

LadyHitchhiker
10-22-2008, 09:10 PM

And disguising it all in llama-ness, and obsession with David Duchovny and X-files and Dark Tower and Star Trek and Jim Butcher and Douglas Adams?? Oh how brilliant that would be!   (but I'm not)

Maybe I could be his llamalady twinner though! Now that's an even funnier thought!

ladykatherine
10-22-2008, 09:15 PM
:P:P:P

well, i thought i'd give it a shot. im not much of a detective, hehehe.
oooo being his Llamalady would be pretty awesome! :excited::panic:
::freaks out for you::

LadyHitchhiker
10-22-2008, 09:16 PM
"Stephen King's Llamalady"...

Hmmmmm... I wonder if I'd get in trouble for putting that as my title.... I guess it would have to be approved through Stephen King before I started making those kind of grandiose claims ;)

ladykatherine
10-22-2008, 09:18 PM
Yeah, being someone's Llamalady is pretty damn serious.
:couple::lol:

LadyHitchhiker
10-22-2008, 09:22 PM
Well not just someone's but Stephen Kings???? Pretty serious there. ;)

ladykatherine
10-22-2008, 09:29 PM
true, very true.
i'd be shakin in my boots if i were you.
:):P

LadyHitchhiker
10-22-2008, 09:29 PM
I just noticed I misspelled involvement as the thread title. It shouldn't be involvment. LOL... Maybe someone can fix that for me?

ladykatherine
10-22-2008, 09:30 PM
huh.
i didn't even notice that.
FAIL.
i guess i should change my major again...
(those advisors probably hate me by now, hehehe )

LadyHitchhiker
10-22-2008, 09:32 PM
well hell I've been reading/writing since I was 3... you'd think I wouldn't miss that, but I've been up since 520 and really should be crashing into bed very very soon... especially with the big job interview tomorrow. Don't want to be snoring or yawning during it... that would be TOO laid back.

I wonder how many people put Stephen King on their applications as a reference.... Hmmm...

ladykatherine
10-22-2008, 09:39 PM
oh gosh!! go to bed missy!
i know im heading there myself after this.
goodluck at your interview!!

hmmm i would love to put Stephen King down as a reference. how sweet would that be?
"Yes, I'm basically qualified for any position because Stephen King knows me. Just hire me."

hehehe okay I would never talk like that, but I think you get the picture!
:P

night!

LadyHitchhiker
10-22-2008, 09:40 PM
Can I sig you on that?

"Yes, I'm basically qualified for any position because Stephen King knows me. Just hire me."

Let me know and I'm off to bed!

ladykatherine
10-22-2008, 09:41 PM
ummm i don't know what that means...
><
but if you let me know whenever, i will!

LadyHitchhiker
10-22-2008, 09:42 PM
I would put it as my signature so every time I post, it would be there...

ladykatherine
10-22-2008, 09:45 PM
OH!! I see...
why yes, that'd be awesome!!
:rolleyes::rofl:
heeheehee

LadyHitchhiker
10-22-2008, 09:46 PM

ladykatherine
10-22-2008, 09:47 PM

Well this thread certainly went into odd territory.

Officially, King has no direct involvement with the site. We are very friendly with his office, but that is about the extent of it. Though he was kind enough to sign and personalize a book for the winner of our fundraiser giveaway last spring. We would all love to see him involved with the site more but, as Dags said before, he isnt really involved with even his own site. So it would be a bit of a stretch.

We can leave this for a bit, ladies, but there's really not far for it to go discussion-wise, so we'll have to either take the topic in a bit of a new direction or find a thread to merge it with. I am going to go ahead and move it (with a one day redirect) to the Dixie Pig, since it isnt really an announcement or news item.

Tell me more about these llamas...

:P

Jean

I just noticed I misspelled involvement as the thread title. It shouldn't be involvment. LOL... Maybe someone can fix that for me?
Done

Matt
10-23-2008, 12:31 PM
I like the idea of being controlled through microchips. If anyone could have permission to do it, it would be...Dora.

(and King)

But as Aaron said, we are non affiliated at this time. Could change in the future, who knows?

I do dream sometimes that he looks at the site--once that he called me to say it was cool.

I'm not sure I helped the conversation at all here. :orely:

LadyHitchhiker
10-23-2008, 04:28 PM
You didn't answer my other question, Matt. Would you be a Llama??? LLamaMatt has a nice ring to it... :sighs: Or DirectorLlama or LlamaDirector????

Is there anything we could do to get SK more involved with our site besides send a llama petition with a million llamas on it?

LadyHitchhiker
10-23-2008, 04:28 PM
Also, when SK IS involved with his site, does anyone know his log in name?

ladykatherine
10-23-2008, 04:39 PM
HAHAHA!
Now I've got llamas on the brain again.
But I almost would think he'd change it everytime he wants to comment on something, because in his auto-interview he made a reference to something he wrote, so if anyone actually found it (if it was still there)...he probably couldn't/shouldn't/wouldn't use it again.
But who knows? I could be totally wrong. It's a thursday and Im stuck inside...FAIL.
:wtf:

LadyHitchhiker
10-23-2008, 04:43 PM
I think that would be really interesting to know... or maybe they have a specific name set aside for him...

Do you have a certain name set aside for Sai King if he shows up, Matt?

Hannah
10-23-2008, 05:21 PM
**Aaron Posting**

Also, when SK IS involved with his site, does anyone know his log in name?

We have the name "Stephen King" set aside so that no one can use it, but I doubt King would want to use that one if he joined.

Per his office, though, he does not have an account. We are positive at this point that he has at least seen the site, but he views as a guest.

LadyHitchhiker
10-27-2008, 03:42 PM
Oooooooooooooooooh so he still views all our devotedness (not a word but I'm using it anyways)... er, views our devotion (that makes more sense) and sleeps well at night because of it....

The Lady of Shadows
10-27-2008, 03:57 PM
actually he probably can't sleep cause he thinks we're all completely insane. and he's called his alarm company. twice. and ordered bars for the windows. twice. and a dog. a nice big lovely dog. perhaps a bull mastiff.

ladykatherine
10-27-2008, 05:51 PM
Aww sad.
I didn't think we were that bad. I, for one, have never stalked him.
::shifty eyes::
No but seriously, if I were him, I'd be all over these sites being annoying. But maybe that's just because I'm a dedicated fan that will do that when I'm a big and famous author.

BlaineTheChooChooTrain
10-27-2008, 07:18 PM
What if Stephen King has an account and is active in understanding the fans devoted to his most epic work ever?

What if he is the one the everyone pokes fun of, I know theres one here theres one on every forum.

What if.....meh Im out of what if's.

ladykatherine
10-27-2008, 07:23 PM
Hmm, that'd be scary.
And I'd laugh if we all were poking fun at him...it doesnt' seem like something we would knowingly do to Stephen King...
...or would we?
:rolleyes::wtf:

Jeesh that would be horrible. It is cool to know that he has atleast poked his head in here once though. If he [I]was[I] stopping in everyonce in a while as a guest that would just kind of worry me make me want to sit up straight and be at attention while posting lol.

Daghain
10-27-2008, 10:30 PM
Well, I think you can relax. I don't believe he's been here more than once or twice, as a guest, and only for a very specific reason.

He is far too busy to visit our corner of the Tower. :D

Hbgunslinger
10-27-2008, 10:54 PM
True, I agree that he would have to be far to busy to stop in.

ladykatherine
10-28-2008, 10:04 AM
Yeah true. Maybe we shouldn't be spending so much time here either...
::glances over to unfinished essay::
(yeah, ok. I'll be here til I die! Scout's honor!:ninja:)

LadyHitchhiker
10-28-2008, 12:56 PM
You better!

Geez... if we aren't part of Stephen King's fabulous legacy, then who is???

And *I* don't think I would act any different if SK was around. I'd be me, but maybe I'd fawn over him for a few minutes and then be cool after I was revived by smelling salts.

ladykatherine
10-28-2008, 02:35 PM
and try to give him a llama?

LadyHitchhiker
10-28-2008, 02:39 PM
Try to make him a llama. ;)

10-29-2008, 12:02 AM
Yeah I am not sure if I would actually act different. However if he was posting here and was actually outwardly acknowledging that he is SK then I don't know how or if I could post after him......god forbid if I was to offend him in someway this might happen to my head:onfire:

LadyHitchhiker
10-29-2008, 03:18 PM
We are his making, his creation, his legacy... we are all like his little children... you would think he would accept us all for our indivuality. You can't just write a book (or many books) and not expect many people to not have their own opinions of the book. Of course, he probably never thought the internet would invest in a forum solely based on his books, so he must be a little flattered and um.. overwhelmed and a smidge creeped out.

The Lady of Shadows
10-29-2008, 03:30 PM
ummmmm, liz? you want to make him a llama. and read your own sig then come back here and tell us all how flattered he will be.

this is such a great thread.

LadyHitchhiker
10-29-2008, 03:35 PM
I don't want to MAKE him be a llama. I want him to want to be a llama. There is a distinct difference though I did carelessly state otherwise earlier. ;)

LadyHitchhiker
01-04-2009, 11:41 AM
I can't believe this thread didn't get merged...

anyways I'm working slowly on infiltrating the sk site with my parodies... maybe some will make their way to his...

over there my avatar is a picture of a llama (big surprise)...

who knows what mark I may make over there ;)

Jean
01-05-2009, 12:57 AM
it didn't get merged, but if it doesn't assume any saner aspect very soon, it might be sent to the clearing

I'm moving this thread to the clearing. It has served it's purpose as informing everyone that Stephen King is not a member/poster of our site, and there's no need for it to continue... even in Dixie Pig.

Thanks!
