We've got trivia for movies and video games....why not music? The rules are the same: Whoever answers correctly gets to ask the next question. I'll start us off with an easy one.

In Rocky Raccoon by The Beatles, what does Rocky's woman call herself?
:)

Brice

Keeping with my AV/Sig theme, what will have to wait?

jayson
08-11-2008, 01:16 AM
my soul? (or perhaps your soul since you are the one asking :P)

Ok, I'm done waiting. If mine wasn't the answer Brice was looking for I will yield the feather back to him. Until then...

According to the Ramones, why did Jackie and Judy go to Berlin?

Brice
08-18-2008, 10:22 AM
Sorry! Of course you were right Jayson. My soul will have to wait...yours however will not.

Correct Feev! Somehow I'm not at all surprised that it was you that got this one. :)

According to Pink Floyd - What kind of gown should Emily wear?

jayson
08-18-2008, 11:01 AM
One that touches the ground, of course.

fernandito
08-18-2008, 11:02 AM

jayson
08-18-2008, 11:06 AM
It was a Floyd question and I was logged in, how long did you think it would take?

So, according to Bob Dylan, ain't it just like the night to do what?

(Or, if you prefer Match Game style wording... Ain't it just like the night to do blank?)

jayson

Nobody? I suspected Brice might know this one as it was covered by the Dead. I suppose if Jean visits this thread he would get it. I know the bear is a lover of Dylan.

Alas, no answers. Well the answer I was looking for was "play tricks when you're trying to be so quiet" in reference to the first line of Dylan's "Visions of Johanna".

I will put the feather up for grabs. Somehow I suspect I can get back if I so choose...

VastOne
08-27-2008, 12:15 PM
TY Jayson, got into this too late to get yours....

According to Pearl Jam, what comes from each corner of a shared prison cell?

Bluenose
08-28-2008, 10:58 AM
empty stares

Bluenose
08-28-2008, 12:15 PM
Sorry, I forgot to ask a question. If my answer wasnt right, then VastOne can correct me, and he can have the feather back and you all can ignore my question.

Anyway...my question is...

Where did Shannon McNally want her heart buried?

Somewhere I spent far too much time in my youth. But, I had to look it up so I'm not taking the feather and I am spoiler-tagging my answer. Someone else can get this one.

I did however spend a lot of time at the Jersey Shore. I hated the vast majority of that time, but some of it may have been fun.

She wanted it buried on the Jersey Shore.

I almost forgot this thread existed. I don't know the answer to Fruno's question, and if he returns he can revive the question, but I thought it'd be fun to continue playing this game. So, here's a new question...

Name two Pink Floyd songs on which the lead vocals are not performed by a member of Pink Floyd.

Note: This note is specifically for Brice, I am not talking about songs sung by David Gimour. :P

Have a Cigar is sung by Roy Harper

and

The Great gig in the sky is sung by Clare Torry

I'll do this one Jeapardy style

This Sublime Song has vocal Samples from a television program of the same name as the song which had lee van cleef in it and a sample of the organ part from the doors' song When the Music's over

The answer to mine was a lyric from The Microphones song The Moon.

"And like the moon, my chest was full."

Cisco Kid?

And if I'm right, I will gladly defer to Fruno to ask another question since it is rightfully his turn. Welcome back Fruno. :)

Ok, today being David Gilmour's birthday I feel like I should go with another Floyd question (albeit an easy one and not about Gilmour), so here goes...

What is the only Pink Floyd song to feature vocals by Nick Mason?

Well Corporal Clegg would be the most appropriate answer to that, but he also did some spoken lines in One of these Days, signs of life and learning to fly...

I'll do another one if thats cool (if its not nobody answer)

This Misfits song was covered by Metallica in a medley along with their other hit last caress

Shoot, I'll take it.

Where did Green Day get their name?

flaggwalkstheline
04-30-2009, 10:05 AM
they changed their name from sweet baby to avoid confusion with another band to green day supposedly because of their fondness for pot

I have a question that I dont know the answer to so if anyone could answer it I would appreciate it
Why did The Replacements directly take the name of a beatles album for their famous album Let it Be?

Girlystevedave
05-01-2009, 09:18 PM
I don't know if this helps or if it's what you're looking for, but I found this online:

The album's title is a reference to the 1970 album Let It Be by The Beatles; the reference was intended as a joke on the Replacements' manager, Peter Jesperson, who was a huge Beatles fan.
:)

If this is even correct, someone else can take the feather.

it's customary to wait to be told you're correct before posting another question.

Frunobulax
06-04-2009, 05:15 PM
Dude, did you just Google Black Francis' real name? I fucking love the Pixies and his solo, but even I don't know his middle names. And your question is disgustingly simple:
Forbidden Zone. The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo. Bonus: Danny Elfman played the Devil in early Mystic Knights shows. Bonus bonus: The Forbidden Zone theme was recycled as the Dilbert theme in the '90s. Bonus bonus bonus: Forbidden Zone was not colorised until this decade, mainly due to the low budget of the film that forced Elfman to use black and white stock. Bonus bonus bonus bonus: Both my parents saw Boingo when they were the Mystic Knights - at the same show, before they met. He went for Boingo (they were a local band he liked), my mom for the Police.

I'm upping two questions, one very hard, one easy. The hard one will get you a free CD-R mix CD of music I like (including some original songs of mine that are unreleased!). NO CHEATING. I use the honor policy, but I'll know if you can answer the question or not.

HARD QUESTION: Bar five of Frank Zappa's THE BLACK PAGE #1 has a tuplet. What are the three tuplets within that one? Ratios preferred.

EASY QUESTION (for the feather): What two bands have unreleased Steve Lillywhite sessions that are considered better than the released versions? You need to only name one to get feather.

OK, no answers. Here they are (and feather is now up):
Easy one was either Fugazi or Dave Matthews Band.
Hard one was a 5:4, 5:4, and a 6:4 in a 3:2.
