I am a regular Haiku contributor to the Splat! blog on news.com.au.
A recent blog invited Haikus about favourite books.

Here is my post.

The tale I like most
Takes place over seven books
Each gets a Haiku.

The man in black flees
Across the barren desert
Gunslinger follows

Woke up on a beach
Dad-a-chuck? some fingers gone!
Now he must draw three

Was he killed or not?
Saved, pulled through the demon door
have to catch a train

Soppy love story
Bird and Bear and Hare and Fish
And the pink grapefruit.

Ka-tet called upon
to exterminate the wolves
come back to New York

Mia’s chap is born
Protect the rose at all costs
it means everything.

Finally we’re here
Won’t give the ending away
read it for yourself

Bango, it's priceless! http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k291/mishemplushem/Facilitation/bear4bis.gifhttp://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k291/mishemplushem/Facilitation/bear4bis.gifhttp://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k291/mishemplushem/Facilitation/bear4bis.gif I hope it isn't outside FanFic Guidelines - poems are usually acceptable, so I think it's ok. I have moved them here, where they will feel comfortable; sorry didn't PM you about it, but you can't be PMed unless you accumulate 5 posts.

wow, really good
You should write one for the ones who have finished the series. ;)
But I wouldn't like to be pushy, it's great.

What is at the heart of thine every step, Gunslinger?
What great and melodious end doth Ka find willing for such a faithful suitor?
Dost it fear, that which burns in thy soul and feeds thy magnus momentum,
Subject only to the will of Gan? Mayhap.

Tell me, Gunslinger, and say true.
Be it so, that the errant of thy toil amounts to naught but thy bleak, demential end?
In thy fruits of labor find death. Charyou tree, gunslinger, I see you very well.
There will be water if God wills it. Do you say so? Then let it be so!

What fortune, then, for fascinated, reminiscent eye to once again gaze upon the shimmering seas of Mejis!
Even in thy wary slumber, never has a vision so immaculate aroused in thy sight.
When the world has moved on, such existential afterthought would do well to
merit savor, do it please ya.

For those billowing fields are now dead. Their fruits have been reaped.
Such cometh to pass throughout Inworld, everything there is 19.
There is no more balm in Gilead, its surging rivers damned to dry up.
Come Come Commala. Come Reap.

Dost thou remember the face of thy father?
Years of sand and toil may well have forced its succor and vividity into an
All but lost passing friction; ye you have a daunting countenance, evermore.
And ever still.

"All is forgotten in the stone halls of the dead.
Behold the stairways which stand in darkness;
Behold the rooms of ruin.
These are the halls of the dead where spiders spin
and the great circuits fall quiet,
One by one."

Blaine was a pain, but is no longer, and that is the truth.
Susan Delgatto is dead.
Jake of New York is dead.
Cuthbert Allgood is dead, Ka Mai.
Oh, Discordia.

You shall be written in with the nameless.
The countless, faceless souls reunited with the Prim;
For there is glory in such, Childe Roland.
But hearken, Dinh titi, and have heart!
For Ka is a wheel that will always turn, Say God.
Say God BOMB!
Do you say so? Then let it be so!

Go then, there are other worlds than these.
For indeed, thou art a tower junkie, Roland!
And mayhap someday thou will climb up to the top
And may thou open the door, and step inside.
And may it not be empty, Sai.
And may it do ya fine.
