Towerpedia:John Farson

John Farson is a fictional character in author Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series. Also know as the Good Man, Farson is determined to bring down the Affiliation.

Farson’s claim that the Affiliation is outdated and that the privileged class should not rule has gained a great deal of popularity among the lower classes of society and many failed gunslingers, most notably Eldred Jonas and the Big Coffin Hunters. Furthermore, Farson states that once he is in power, all people will be equal and ancestry will no longer dictate social status.

Farson’s story is just a cover for his true intention – to bring death and destruction to Mid-World. A staunch supporter of the Crimson King, Farson has the weapons of the Old Ones to help him in his quest for power.

While waging his war against the Affiliation, Farson comes into possession of the Grapefruit, one of the spheres belonging to Maerlyn’s Rainbow. Farson uses the knowledge gained in Grapefruit against his opponents, and it gives him a significant, although unfair, advantage. Farson eventually loses the Grapefruit to Roland and his mates in Hambry.

Farson’s sigul is a wide, staring eye, identical to that of the Crimson King.
