This is basically 11th hour you guys but I would really like to pull this off. :grouphug:
NPR has a series (that is also in print I believe) called "This I believe..." - basically famous people and not so famous people write in with a bit about whatever they believe in broad terms.
We would like to do this but only on the topic of The Dark Tower. Any person, place or thing about it--just what you believe.
Why should I do this you ask?
Well, we are going to collect these and read them as a means of creating a segway for the beginning of each drawing. We will read them *short banter* then describe the item...draw the name. It seems funner than just doing drawing after drawing. Not to mention, the drinking will add to this as the night goes on.
Cute little scene each time we hope :fairy:
But the coolest part about it is that is about The Dark Tower. Your piece (should you choose to write one and I really hope everyone will) is going to be anonymous when read.
Everyones bit of writing will then be posted (annon) on the board and well have a little after action contest to see who can guess the most. This will involve clues.
The winner of that will get 5 entries in to next years giveaway which is no small potatoes. We plan to make it bigger, better and cooler in every way.
I know that's a lot but I hope you got this far.
How to be a part of this:
Write a "This I believe..." statement having to do with anything in The Dark Tower universe.
Send that to my email address: mattrayne@thedarktower.org
Write it so it can be copied and pasted easily onto a word doc.
Please write in your member name at the bottom, these will be kept secret
Watch the drawing and hear your entry read
Try to guess who else you hear-for 5 entries in the 2009 Big Give
Its real simple but I need as many of these as possible by 8PM EST on Saturday. We will figure out how many we have and read as many as we need to in order to get through them.
I think this could be a really cool thing and it totally pays homage to the reason we are all here which is this great story. You can post questions in here if you like. I'll put announcements all over the board because we only have one day to get as many as possible.
