Hello all, long days and pleasant nights.

This is one of my favorite threads at .net so I thought I'd start one up over here. We'll see how many DT junkies there are here. :) The trivia can be from any of the DT novels or connectors (ie, comics, The Stand, It, Eyes of Dragon, etc). Whoever posts the correct answer first is entitled to ask a new question. It is generally polite to wait for confirmation of an answer but if you are sure, then go ahead and ask yours. I understand it can be difficult to get back to check.

This thread assumes that you have finished the series, so watch for spoilers.
I'll start us off. Happy Trivia!

What type of bullets did Roland take from New York to use in his revolvers?

MonteGss
05-17-2007, 04:19 AM
I'm off to work for the day. This question is fairly easy, I'll trust somebody can find the correct answer and continue with their own.
Happy Trivia!

I am going to need to look this up. The "gun store" scene from DoTT is one of my most favorite of all time.

Same here. I love that part where he's walking down the street and his jacket flaps open, revealing the gun(s) beneath.

Oh man, that really sealed the deal on the Dark Tower for me.

question:

What was the last "machine" to come at Eddie, at the Portal of The Bear, that he had to kick before he could shoot?

Aaron
05-18-2007, 10:50 PM
The robot rat, of course.

*will wait for confirmation*

Matt
05-19-2007, 01:22 PM
I believe the rat is correct.

MonteGss

I think maerlyn got lost Aaron. :) You have the correct answer...why don't you ask a question?

sarajean
05-20-2007, 02:43 PM
while it isn't an off topic discussion, it is a game, and therefore belongs here.

:D

MonteGss
05-20-2007, 02:46 PM
Pardon me, then I am truly confused as to what is on-topic. I understand it can be considered a game but this is DARK TOWER and therefore posts here should be counted towards your total. Shouldn't it? It's not like we're playing Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune.
Thanks for tolerating my confusion.

Thanks for tolerating my confusion.

i never said it was off topic. i bolded above where i stated that it wasn't off topic.

it was general consensus among the staff that games belong in the games forum, no matter whether they're dark tower related, or not. it's fairly simple, actually. i'm afraid i don't understand the confusion.

if you're looking to up your post count, there are many other forums in which you can make relevant posts to do so.

MonteGss

Are you going to move the thread? Because I loves me some DT Trivia!

MonteGss

It's been moved already Daghain. Why don't you ask a question?
:)

Daghain
05-21-2007, 07:52 PM
OOH. You know how I love to be quizmaster. I'll ask the one I inadvertantly posted in an additonal thread (I got so excited there might be trivia, I got ahead of myself).

This one's a softball, but it should get things moving:

There is a piano player mentioned in at least two DT novels. Who is this piano player?

I guess you have a point there. I'll rephrase it. (On that point I guess I was going with the assumption that they were there first and got moved in on like we have a habit of doing to native people, but then again there was no proof of this given in the book.)

Jean
06-06-2007, 11:11 PM
I wouldn't call Kipling's writings "immensely hilarious"; the writer I mean was famous exactly for being a humorist.

hint: it was Eddie who evoked the character, and, most likely, never heard of the writer. He must have known the character from other sources, maybe a TV or radio adaptation; there have been many in Europe and probably a few in the USA, too.
