Hello friends!!

The time of our drawing is coming up and I wanted to spell out what people could expect to happen on May 17th.

Its obvious to anyone here that our Fund Raiser this year was a roaring success and I can't imagine a better way to close out this first of many annual events.

Before you get too much into this, make sure you read the Giveaway List (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?t=2494) thread for rules and regs.

Hannah is going to do her absolute best to make sure that people have an up to date number on how many entries they have but its very hard as people are allowed to donate all the way up to the drawing.

Please review the rules and regs and you can get a rough idea of how many entries you have based on what you have donated.

Aaron and Hannah will show up at my house somewhere around 5PM EST on Saturday the 17th. After a meet and greet we are going to begin the drawing.

Each drawing will be filmed (with panache)
Each drawing will have a thread that has the drawing number and winner in the title
As we are drawing, we will be uploading videos to youtube and waiting for approval. Once they are approved, they will be posted.

We also plan to be in chat the whole time and there is a chance I can get a live webcam hookup going for behind the scenes action. :fairy:

We will draw the entire list that night but may not be able to get them all posted. If they cannot be posted, we'll move into the next day. As long as it takes to make all the announcements with the corresponding video.

Monday, May 19th will be the official one year anniversary for the site :excited:

Please post questions about things I have forgotten in here.

It sounds awesome! Good luck everyone! Hope people get some cool prizes! (that of course is inevitable since they are all damned cool) :)

Umm...does panache actually translate into raucous drunkenness? Because otherwise we're all going to be really disappointed.

Matt

It does indeed!

Excellent! We'll no doubt be having a raucous good time
watching your panache filled film... I have visions of old
Monty Python sketches playing in my head !

Sounds wicked awesome! :harrier: Also, I haven't seen someone use the word "panache" in a sentence in awhile, Matt. Are you turning metro-sexual on me?

It sounds like a fun time. Thankfully, that's the only Saturday this month that I don't have a show, so I'll be around for the fun.

The plan is that the drunker I get the less time I will be on camera. I tend to become a little stupid the more I drink.

I'm sure Aaron and Matt will be a great show to watch though.

Usually the drunker I get the more I get on camera  And somehow, it gets filmed, and those are the takes that come out best. :beat:

So where will the drawing take place? Matt and Dora's house? Aaron and Hannah's? The back corner of a dark, dingy, dive bar in Colorado?

Darkthoughts

Dive bar! Dive bar!

Its going to be happening right here at casa del Rayne. Its been forever since Hannah and Aaron were up so we're really looking forward to it. :excited:

Hannah

Matt and Dora's! Of course. :D They have everything up at their house, it seems like the best place to do it.

Dive BAR! Dive BAR! Dive BAR!

Or, they could just buy a boatload of drinks and set up a bar right in the house. :D

Patrick

 I think that's the plan, Spencer.

Hey Matt, what kind of mezcal are you getting for this thing?

Matt
05-15-2008, 12:58 PM
It's a Del Maguey Minero.

Basically hand made single village mescal.

100 proof, no worm (that's an American thing)

Patrick

I've seen that stuff in the liquor stores here. I don't know much about mezcal (just tequila), but I know there are some good ones. Enjoy it!

But be sure to pace yourselves, it's going to be a long evening.

Matt
05-15-2008, 01:30 PM
Its the best you can get but I do believe Aaron and Hannah are bringing a "back up bottle" of the shelf stuff.

Better safe than sorry.

Usually the 4 of us can go through a 5th of tequila in a couple of hours.

but the liquor store is within walking distance.

but the liquor store is within walking distance.

Well that sure is convenient.

Daghain

Yes, but is it within crawling distance? That's what's important.

Matt

I crawled across the DMZ into South Korea so I think I can do it.

Patrick
05-15-2008, 03:20 PM
Did Kevin just "Squee"!?
:P

Rule of Thumb for the distance to any given liquor store: If you can walk it, you can crawl it.

Nerak
05-16-2008, 05:26 AM
I like guys who squee!!! HE HE

And it's more of a "stumble stumble crawl crawl" thing...

Patrick
05-17-2008, 10:10 AM
I googled that stuff. At $70 a bottle, it's definitely for sipping.
