in a passage of The Dark Tower (#7), Callahan mentions a raygun that on of the taheen pulls from under napkin looks like a phaser in Star Trek, i wonder which one?
heres a link to a site with pretty much every phaser:
http://www.phasers.net/

tell which one you think it is.

but then again, the TNG phaser was probably before his time.

Just based on the wording (raygun), I would think it looked old and cheesy.

Since this is a topic specific to DT7 and not the entire series, it really should be in that forum..

Anyway, I pictured the gun Meiman had as a Next Generation era phaser looks wise.

Next generation is how I see it as well.

wouldn't Callahan only know Star Trek from the original series? so if it looked to him like it was from Trek, it'd have to be that Trek.

Good point.

Yep, the full on old school gun from the original series.

Which is further support for my theory that the Old Ones based some of their technology from their views into the various levels of the Tower.

I actually pictured something like a car remote opener fob for a fancy luxury car. fits in the palm of the hand or in the pocket.

Well there is those other light phasers or whatever they're called that are like that.

It's weird cos I thought of the next generation phaser too... Thing is those spin off shows are most fresh in our minds...
But yeah... good point concerning Callahan.

actually don't they have ray guns on a bunch of old movies?

it actually could have looked like a lot of things.

I'm seeing something that's big and dangerous looking (dangerous as in unsafe, as well as offensive). I'm thinking sort of like the guns that the Necrons use in Warhammer 40K.

Hot pictures but from under a napkin?
