Towerpedia:Olive Thorin

Olive Thorin is a fictional character in author Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series. Plump and good-natured, Olive loved her husband, Hart, in spite of the fact he was drawn to younger women.

Olive was raised a fisherman’s daughter on the coast of the Clean Sea. She often played in the caves along the sea cliff and knew them very well. She married Hart Thorin, and the two of them eventually took up residence in Seafront after his election to Mayor.

Neglected and rejected by her husband, Olive spent most of her time in her room at Seafront. Unable to bear Hart an heir, Olive had not shared a room with him in ten years, or a bed in five. In spite of Hart’s rejection of her, Olive was still very much in love with him.

Olive was well aware her husband’s obsession with Susan Delgado was causing him to be laughed at behind his back, and she was concerned that Kimba Rimer, the Big Coffin Hunters and the Horsemen’s Association were not being completely honest with the Mayor about what they were up to.

After her husband was killed, Olive, knowing Roland and his friends could not be responsible, rescued Susan Delgado and tried to help her escape. She was killed by Clay Reynolds for her trouble.
