Perhaps a deer, afoot in field, leaves her trail that others cannot see?
Or maybe funds from far away, to help in dire emergency?
Traverse the varied treasure troves, wondrous collections from history,
Mind your step, and follow close, this lodestar leads you easily.

What am I?

Sorry Gaberax you must think a fool as I can't believe I thought it was treasure trove>< and it was one of the clues. Read it in a hurry and it just popped into my my head, now I know why:doh:  Still can't figure it out yet:(.

 That's okay.

See if this helps...

The first and second lines refer to a word...but not in the normal sense of the word. In fact, it is a play on the word in both lines. Line one and line two stand independent of each other. The clues in each line should be enough to get you thinking. Try to see if there is any connection between the two lines...a word or words that may phonetically tie them together.

Lines three and four actually describe the word and it's meaning. It is just cluttered up with flowery speech.

Good luck and thanks for the chuckle.

Thanks Gaberax. Still feel a bit foolish about my blunder of an answer. Now I off to sit in the corner with a dunce cap on to ponder the extra clues you've given. Still probably not work out the answer but have to wait and see.

Anything having to do with "guide"?

A lodestar, like Polaris, guides people, and there are tour guides in museums... that tell you to follow close and watch your step...
