One of my cats had her tail cut off as a kitten (she was a stray)
Her name is Nubs.
I also call her tubby Nubbins, and Nubbinstein, and Nubinson Carusoe.
All my pets have nicknames...I'm weird.

Linus I call Linus Batitus Konkitus... I don't know if the last two words mean anything but I call him that anyways. My husband calls him pork chop and many various fat names...

Mandarin I call Sasquatch for some reason... And crabby patty...

Kami Kazi I called my Caramello because he was so sweet on the inside.

Oh! I used to have a cat named Jimminy "Monkeybrains" Cricket.... He only lived 8 days once I brought him home... :(

You know my uncle Ortiz, Linda? He names all of his dauchsunds Snoopy. Now that he has alzheimer's it's great because he'll probably not forget their names.

I had a dog named Oscar Linda.

Rjeso: My sister had 4 beta named Eric, Stan, Kenny, and Kyle.

sorry, have to adapt the below story to English - it is not going to be as preposterously funny as in Russian, but still -

in the park, last summer, a fat lady walks an unleashed I don't-know-whom, some small fluffy doggy with a deafening squealy non-stop bark. When he runs too far away, she calls him back:

"Shony!... Shony!...... ... Chopin!!!"

LadyHitchhiker
03-24-2008, 01:27 PM
LMAO!!!!!! That's funny!

I've known a few dogs named Bear. But I think that's just a great dog name.

Kabuki was a dog I knew and I thought that was an interesting name.

Ooh! Ooh! We had a cat named "Shitbag" for a short while (Uncle named it) but I thought that was too mean so we renamed him Prank.

The other night I dreamed that we ended up adopting Mandarin's siblings. We named them Papaya and Mango.

We almost named Mandarin "Quizno" because he used to freak out and get hyper whenever the dancing mouse would sing on those commericals. But Mandarin stuck.

a) Good job on the Django, RofG. That's awesome.

b) I thought you knew the Bunnicula book, Brice. I was surprised, because I didn't think any other kid had ever read that, and I was shocked that you knew about it. Looks like I can go un-shock now, since I guess you don't know it. Sad.

Brice

Rats of Nimh! Yes!! You get it!!!

And semprini is from Monty Python Flying Circus.

I'm sure no one got the reference but it was supposed to be the one most evil word in the world. It was the name of a British opera singer.

razz
06-03-2008, 03:28 PM

LadyHitchhiker
06-03-2008, 03:30 PM

I don't know if fish count as pets, but I like my fish a lot. They're incredibly relaxing to watch:
Small, Medium and Large, my 3 x-ray fish,
Mickey, my orange mickey mouse Platy,
Miles Davis and Frodo, my two guppies,
Mooger and Vingt, my two apple snails,
and the late William Merrywater (aka Bill), my silver lyretail Molly.
He disappeared from my tank while I was visiting Texas for a week. I assume he died and was eaten, which is really sad. He was my favorite. :(

My dog:
Xualan the Shih-tsu (pronounced Shoe-lon, but we call her shu-shu).

When I move out of my mom's house in about a month I will have a mouse, but I don't know what to name her yet - any ideas?

Letti

I had thought about Mr. Jingles... but I like Jack too.
It'll be a she, but gender specific names aren't really my thing. :)
And Letti, I'll try to get a picture of my fishies, they move too fast for my camera sometimes though...
