So I'm sitting here at my computer still awake at 8am and wondering who else has an incredibly effed up sleep schedule...
I know some of you do because you're on here still at 3 and 4 (my time anyways) :)

I generally go to bed between 5 and 6am, what about you?

I think I'm gonna get some sleep now though...

I'll assume you work nights?

I get UP around 4:30/5:00 AM so I can be to work by 6:00 AM

It's usually lights out by 10:00 PM, except for weekends when I stay up till 11

I'm usually asleep at 3:00 am if I not working a lot of OT, which in that case I may not sleep for a couple of days :scared:

We're up at 530 and out like a light around 930. Even on weekends. :ninja:

I used to be up until 4 or 5 am, and I'd wake up at 11am for work. I loved it.

Now I wake up at 6:30 and I'm tired by 9:30. I don't uaully go to sleep until 11, I force myself to stay up. Then I have to drink massive amounts of coffee to stay awake at work.

I miss my old schedule.

Oh geez. Great thread. I have the most screwed up sleep schedule ever.

I'm such a night owl, so if I have nothing to do the next day, I will usually go to sleep at 7 or 8am and then wake up at 4 or 5pm. Saturday and Sunday are my work 12-9pm at Wal-Mart days, so I usually stay up till 3am and get up at 11am. Then some days I have to be at my other job early instead of the afternoon, so i'm in bed at midnight and up at 8am. It rotates like this throughout the week. That's why I keep such odd hours here on the boards.

I haven't had a regular, steady sleep schedule in years, but a lot of that comes from being a student and having a constantly changing schedule. Once I get a "real" job in a few months, i'll have to adjust how I sleep. Although I will miss my late nights i'm sure.

I'm up by 6 a.m, usually in bed by 11 or 12.

There was a big thing on sleep on 60 minutes Sunday. Basically the argument was why evolution would leave sleep in (because all living animals must do it, even if its partial like sharks) if it wasn't so damn important.

Studies showed that less than 8 hours in a night becomes cumulative and really sucks at you in ways you cannot imagine.

They basically said you have to have it.

During this winter, I've been going to bed around 9:30, which is ridiculously early for me. My usual hours are:

bed: 10:30-11:00 p.m.
wake up: 5:20 a.m.

I used to work graveyard shift at UPS - 11 p.m to 4 a.m Monday through Thursday, and Fridays we worked from Midnight to 7 a.m. I used to get home just as my mom was leaving to work, and sometimes I would go days without seeing the sun

I rarely get much sleep. During the week I go to sleep around 6am and wake up for class round noon. On the weekends, I go to sleep around 7 or 8am and wake up for work around 3pm.

I usually got to bed between 11pm and 2am. But, on days I have to be at work at 7:30 am, I'll go to bed no later than 1 am.
I go to work at 9:30 most days, which means I get up between 8:30 and 9:00...yeah, I'm a snooze button addict.

 Gods that would be so convenient, wouldn't it?
I'm actually a student... which means I have class at 9:30 MWF, and those days suck because I still go to bed at 5 and get 3.5 hours of sleep.
T/TH is much better because I don't have class until 3:30 in the afternoon.
I DO work Monday mornings from 3-7am at the reception desk of my dormitory though, so that's some night-owl work.

Like last night I went to bed at around 8:15am and woke up around 3. I guess I'm just weird :)

Well shit, I guess I'm screwed in the long run.
At least I'm OK with that?

i would love sleep. if only my body would let me get some conistently. i suffer from periods of terrible insomnia that can last weeks to months. right now i am doing alright [getting about 4.5 to 5 hrs] but there are times when i am lucky to get 1 or 2 a night. our first child is coming so everyone tells me to sleep now while i can. i figure all the insomnia was good practice for being up all night, at least now i'll have something to do besides read.

When I'm home usually go to sleep around 4 am and wake up at 12-1 pm. At school usually in bed by 1 or 2 am depending on what time I have class.
It was weird today, I had a headache last night so I went to sleep at midnight, and woke up at 1:30 pm, so 13 1/2 hours sleep for some reason, and I'm still tired :p

I think there's also such thing as too much sleep, Oy :)

But in all seriousness, if I get 12+ hours I'm groggy when I wake up.
I know whatcha mean.

I am starting to feel like the most
"normal" sleeper here ( whatever than
means). I only work on the weekends
and wake @ 4:30 -5:00 am to start
@ 0700, I live some miles from work.
So by 10 pm. I am usually in bed even
during the week by 1030 tho'sometimes
I can make it to say 11 pm. I wake up @
about 6 am even if I am off and take
my coffee, and sit outside as soon as
it is light to watch the birds, and enjoy
some quiet time. I do however wake in
the middle of the night at times, and
may have to stay awake till its time
to start my day. This is when I am glad
I have this computer, as I will get on and
do some research, or post something here.

My schedule's pretty consistent. I'm usually in bed around 10-10:30 and get up at 5:50 for work. Come friday and saturday nights, I'm usually in bed around the same time (unless I'm out), just because I'm so used to it, and then I'll sleep in till around 8, sometimes 9 the latest. I just can't sleep real late on the weekends anymore. Even if I'm out late the night before I usually still get up around 9. I need my 8 hours of sleep a night or I can't function.

I seldom go to bed before 3:00 a.m. I usually stay up until 4 or 5 in the morning. I love it. I'm ridiculously productive, usually drunk, and enjoying life. The rest of the time, I'm sober, tired, and wishing I was dead.

I go through cycles but lately my cycle has been asleep between 8-10 am and awake bettwen 2-4 pm. Quite odd and the oddness makes it difficult to get things done.

It is difficult to get things done...
And sleeping during the day isn't usually well accepted by my roomie...
She's one of those goes to bed at 12 gets up at 8 people  :)

I' usually in bed by 2-3 AM, then awake for school at 7:30 AM. On weekends I sleep in until about 12-1 PM though. I've had sleep problems for a while now.

Erin

Mattrick and Unfound made good points. It is really hard to get things done when you sleep anytime other than the "normal" 11-7am sleep schedule. My boyfriend works 3rd shift and it's always a struggle to get things done for him..like running errands, taking care of business, that sort of stuff.

Also, a lot of people who don't sleep during parts of the day don't understand it at all. I've told my mom repetitively not to call me when I'm sleeping. She still calls anyways and says "Well, sorry, but it's time for you to get up now..it's noon!" I can't help that i'm way more alert and focused at night. I take advantage of it.

Ha, it's especially great when my mom, who wakes up around 5am everyday, calls me when I've still not gone to sleep.
Her yesterday is still my today and things can get confusing

With me there is no real schedule. It fluctuates greatly. An average day for me is go to bed about 2-3 PM, get up about 6:30 PM to get ready for work. On days off I might get a little extra sleep, but then sometimes I'll just skip sleep entirely. I suffer bouts of pretty extreme insomnia also. It's balanced (almost) by the occasional fifteen + hour nap.

Erin
03-19-2008, 11:40 AM
 The 15 hour nap. I've done a few of those in my time. It always leaves you wondering what day it is.
