So how about a little game. You post a quote, and they have to guess who wrote it. flawed though, as you can find it on any earch engine. Just gotta trust that people respet thier id enough to not do that.

"If you don't read the paper, you're uninformed. Ifyou do read the paper, you're misinformed."

here you go...

Most are engaged in business the greater part of their lives, because the soul abhors a vacuum and they have not discovered any continuous employment for man's nobler faculties.

yours was a good one razz, i know the quote as i am an avid media-critic and twain fan. this one shouldn't be too hard, i don't think so anyway.

I think this is a very cool idea for a thread,
but the title puts me off abit seeing how
much we really LOVE our bear, I do look
forward to the game , hope I can quess some. ;)

Matt
03-18-2008, 06:16 AM
Yep, I am afraid it won't get played much because the title is a bit...offputting. :D

Brice
03-18-2008, 06:22 AM
I was just wondering if the thread title is a quote from something...since it is a quote game thread.

Matt
03-18-2008, 06:24 AM
I'd wager it must be but I'm surprised that no one has recognized it.

jayson
03-18-2008, 06:31 AM
i'd look it up, but the thread rules say no search engines

Brice
03-18-2008, 06:34 AM

Well, since it wasn't actually part of the game I googled it. I could find nothing though.

Jean
03-18-2008, 11:17 AM
I was sure it was a quote... or else I might have been mildly surprized

I'm not sure, but I think it's a reference to Johnny the Homicidial Maniac.

Great game idea Razz - could we change the thread title though, since its not a transient riddle thread but an established game? i.e. something to do with Quote Game etc, let me know and I'll do it.

razz
03-31-2008, 07:11 AM
i shall create a new thread then.

razz
03-31-2008, 07:24 AM
this is a continuation of the "fuch you mr. bear" thread for a quotes game. I will wait for nyone from the last one to continue with a qoute. but with few more rules.
1.post the name of the country of the person wh is quoted
2post the date, or at least the time period,if known.
3. if you know what bok itis from, pos that too.

Thanks mate ;) I've moved your new post into this thread and renamed it for you (easier than doing it the other way around).

Naw...I say we roll with it.

Adumbros
09-16-2008, 05:22 AM
presumably not; traditionally, we give only 48-72 hours on a riddle thread, and when one goes "defunct", it usually goes to whosoever leads the revival. hence:

"No man or woman who attempts to pursue an idea in his/her own way is without enemies."

ps~i'm gonna have to ask Brice to kindly refrain from this particular one, being as it's the headline to my Myspace page.

Jon
09-16-2008, 11:55 PM
Poor Brice can't play.:nope:

Adumbros
09-17-2008, 08:07 AM
Well considering he's No. 2 on my myspace page, it would be a HIGHLY unfair advantage. I would ask Ruki to stray from this one as well, but so far, I haven't seen her on here since my recent return.

Jon
09-18-2008, 01:07 AM
Ruki has been absent for a while now.

Adumbros
09-18-2008, 05:53 AM
so i've noticed. she would normally be PMing me and Brice every 30 seconds or so. :D

not that that's a bad thing, Ru!
