I have both of these I can't remember where I got the Wizard and Glass chapbook but it was long before Ebay came along (did it come with the Regulators/Desperation giftset?) Edit - guess I should have looked at the auction first

The Green Mile book I got from a barter club I was a member of back in CA, I was surprised to find it since I had never seen or heard of it before and it did come with the slipcase (it was shrink wrapped together).

The seller is a SKEMER from Canada that about 6-7 years ago was buying TONS of King stuff on eBay and paying top $$. She is now looking to unload most of her collection, but her prices are way too high, IMO.

Though someone has bid on her S/L UK Desperation/Regulators at $899 when a similar copy couldn't catch a bit at $300 a couple weeks ago. Just goes to show ya I guess.

Cutter
08-07-2007, 09:47 AM
I agree she has some nice stuff, but way too pricey to bid on. Also her shipping charges on some of the items are just flat out unreasonable. 1st Edition Misery and VHS for $1.00, but $28.00 shipping? You gotta be kidding, I ship to Canada all the time and it is not $28.00 for a book and VHS.

Contents of letter:

"Dear Joan Ingalls, Sorry to be so long answering your nice note of July 2nd--as I look out on the frozen lake and the two feet of snow in front of it, it's hard for me to believe there was a July 2nd--but we've been in England for six weeks or so, and a lot of the correspondence never got answered. Totally my fault. The error you mention has drawn about three dozen letters, and I'm happy to inform you that the mistake was a printer's glitch and my hands are clean. I'm happy to tell you that because I make plenty of mistakes on my own. In CARRIE, I brought Carrie's dad back for an encore six months after he had been killed on a construction job. I got a couple of hundred letters on that one. Thanks for the nice words, and I'm just sorry so many months have gone by between your letter and mine. Best to you and yours in this holiday season." I'm leery that the Skeleton Crew print doesn't have any real description. Is it some official print or just a scan and print that someone made from their book?

The little "Umney's" book is nice if you also have the little W&G one to go with it. They make a nice set. I can't remember what I paid for either.

rather than having a sale through The Haven Foundation's store due to the uniqueness of this listing, First Trade Editions (released in 2003/2004) of volumes 1-7 of The Dark Tower, (The Gunslinger is the Viking hardcover First Trade Edition of the revised and expanded version), all signed by Stephen King are now being auctioned on Ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180161312240 - auction ends Septermber 26th.

Plenty of time for the price to increase a lot. I agree that it will interesting to see what the current market turns out to be on this.

I enjoyed the listing - very descriptive and enthusiastic. I thought it was kind of funny though that it says, "It has never been removed from the wooden box..." and down below is a photo of the book outside its wooden box.

I too am amazed at the price this has fetched so far! I do not think it would be so high if it were not for the Haven Foundation being the recipient (unless it's a bogus claim:angry: ). It took me the better part of three years to put this same set together myself!

From the description, it sounds like the seller on the second one is a speculator rather than a fan - since, although they are correct, they weren't certain of the names of the characters.

The first auction listing (for the page from the first issue, original price 550.00) is at least the second time that piece has been listed, it did not get any bids the other time it will be interesting to see if it does any better this time.

The second listing is for a page that was originaly 600.00.

I don't think this art was a good investment, I think only a few key pages would resell for the original price or more, most like these probably for considerably less than the original price, any thoughts?

I think any speculator who bought any of this stuff purely for financial return is a fool.

I believe any fan who bought any of this original artwork because they love it is a genius.

IMO, This is one King title (not the only) where a lettered edition is not going to command 4x-10x the prcie of the numbered.

I'd say it's worth it. I don't know what the original issue price was, but that book, Simmon's first (although this edition is not the real first), is great. I'd buy it myself, but you have first choice. I don't know if the books resale value will increase, but my gut feel is that it will.

There are some new bookmarks promoting the 2nd series of The Gunslinger Born.

Does anyone have more than one? If anyone can get me one I'd appreciate it a lot!
Thanks!

Weathervane7 buys King stuff all the time and resells on ebay. Don't know much about him/her though.

Where did you hear about the new Gunslinger BOrn bookmarks.

I got my Gunslinger Born Omnibus hardcover in the mail from Tales of Wonder yesterday. That was my replacement prize for the Lilja's Library contest that I was a winner in earlier this year.

I saw one of the bookmarks at ebay.com

I asked about the seller since in one of the pictures he has one of the Maximum Overdrive trucks that I'd love to see closer (and get one!)
THANKS BOB!

Fisrt I had seen of those. It's only a dollar, although $3 extra (that's a bit much for a bookmark) for shipping.

Interestingly, the back of the bookmark shows a March 2008 publication date for The Long Road Home, not February. I wonder which it's going to be? (I just got one via the same seller).

It suprises me that Creepshow is "creeping" up.
Here is one (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220170821700&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123) that is a 2nd printing (I e-mailed to inquire), yet is already at $26 with a day to go.

Usually those types of things are freebies, although which comic stores get which (if any) promo items can be hit or miss. I'll ask at my local store next time I'm there - maybe even this weekend. I'll let you know.

I'm still amazed that people are selling the freebie sketchbooks. A couple weeks ago our local store put out another big stack of them - and this is after issue #7 was already released.

This is the person I bought the DT set from. I saw these at the time but did not buy them because the set is not complete, i.e. half of them are UK and the other US versions.
