:) Looks like it!
I think I narrowed my genre focus this year - fantasy and sci-fi are my two loves. As to publishers, Subterranean Press has been and will be the publisher for me but I also collect Centipede Press, Grim Oak, CD and some firsts. Lettereds allowed me "manage" quantity of books I have as Im somewhat limited on space.

Thank you everyone for the compliments! Books and Photography are the two hobbies I love.
I have so many photos ( about 7-15 per edition) that I need to figure out the most efficient way to post them here. I tried the collage but the images in the thread displayed rather small despite original file is 4000px.
Would it look better as stand alone images or continue doing the collage?

I'm so glad this trend of non-King collections got started, and I'm loving this thread so far!

I think the collages are good way to start, although I'm sure you have some books that deserve hi-res pics (I'm thinking of the excellent pics of Smoke and Mirrors that you posted a few months ago which prompted me to start looking for a copy).

I ended up with two small spots on mine but it's nothing too bad. May just switch the DJ with my copy of the numbered edition. They already replaced my traycase because it arrived with a big 'ol smooshed corner.

It's possible, it has been pretty darn humid here lately. I emailed Subterranean and they are sending a new one (so kudos to them), and I found out I could simply rub a great deal of it away. Beautiful book, can't wait to see your photos of it!

The price for Altered Carbon S/L is high. Low print run, but boosted now because the second in the series is forthcoming. I would still think you could find one for around 500.

I know ones listed for $700, but feel that's one or two hundred too high, is that right?

Am I blind or did you see the AC pictures somewhere else?

Remarques are quite easy to do if you have nervous system made of steel. I usually contact the artist I like and then see if they would do something in the book all while thinking non stop how the hell am I going to send a lettered edition to UK and back for example. Vincent Chong has done many for me over the years and he's super nice to deal with. They can cost anywhere between 30 to 200 per page.

ASOIAF and specifically Subterranean Press editions got me into limited books collecting. Majority of my collection is dedicated to these series which remain to be my all time favorites but it would not be complete without a lettered set - some photos here as its probably the most available images wise set online.

With the possible exception of one short story I read some years back, I have NEVER read anything by Gene Wolf I liked. And it is definitely possible I just don't "get it", when it comes to his work. However, those are beautiful books.

This is pretty much a "best of" Centipede Collection - very nice! I really like the jacketless books he does, especially the most recent ones. The Drowning Girl, The Collector, The Girl in a Swing, Samurai Cat, Kafka on the Shore... they are my favorites from the last couple of years. And the Wolfe set is just gorgeous.

I have displayed my Centipede collection a couple of different ways and I think your shelf is quite striking.

Two questions for you

1. Did you have the slipcases for American Psycho and the others custom made, or were you able to find extras from other books that fit? I'd like to get a slipcase for some of my non-slipcased CP books (American Pyscho is one of them).

2. Is Imgur pretty easy to use? I have used the site-based image uploader, which I like and appreciate, but for whole-shelf pictures the resolution is just too small to make out each title. I like that I can easily read all of the titles when you post your full shelves.

Thank you my friend.
I can’t say anything about these image hosting sites - other it’s a bit of a pain to upload photos to various locations. It’s free so I guess it works.
I found this cool guy that makes his own cases stateside- and he’s using different materials than Jeff in U.K. so it worked perfectly for CP. I made all cases to match - black cloth so it’s almost a perfect companion to other CP slipcases plus they are affordable. So yes for American Psycho it’s one of those slipcases. Because of the shelves design I somewhat “forced” to either make cases or buy books only with traycases. So when Jerad asks in his Sunday newsletter what he should do with upcoming edition and slipcase or not my answer is always Yes, yes, triple yes.😜

You know looking at all of these I am sad that all of his newer editions are hardcover with a dust jacket. I always enjoyed his older style of just cloth boards or printed paper boards with leather spine. What do you think about the shift? You seem to have all the older editions that are beautiful works of art.

This one you have to hold in your hands to appreciate. Clean and simple yet so precise and strikingly elegant. I dont think I've had a white leather lettered from SP before this beauty.

Beautiful book. Congrats!!

I was really eager to see this one, as $500+ is the price point that Sub Press really starts to put extra effort into their lettered editions and I wasn't sure what to expect. This does not disappoint!!

I'm glad you posted pics - I didn't know that the lettered finally came out and now I have to begin the hunt for my own copy :)

I posted this on SubPress FB Group yesterday following Bill's announcement that The Scar and Iron Council will be published. Actually I need to take the time and photograph my entire Mieville collection as I have very book SP produced.
This is one of the greatest volumes made by them in my opinion, great traycase design, end papers and tray inlays, leather bound, illustrated, beautiful paper. Perdido Street Station by China Mieville, 2011.

As i said on FB, that is a gorgeous production from traycase to covers to paper. Congratulations.

I love that you've been able to photograph the texture of the leather on the book cover. So many of SubPress's best designs have covers that are textured or fascinating to touch. Photos are rarely able to capture that. Well done.

(Not that I've seen this edition first hand; I only have the Numbered).

This is one set of a few trades that I have. I'm actually obsessed with ASOIAF so I have a lot of various presentations and prints of the series.
These are first US editions - all immaculate with perfect dust jackets ( some were not easy to find at all ) , signed, some with a notable extras like A Feast For Crows jacket or an inscription by Phyllis Eisenstein in A Storm Of Swords.
Until a few weeks ago I could not find a decent Jon Snow cover to complete this set - even made these custom slipcases with various houses while patiently waiting for one to show up. Big thanks to Becca for her kind guidance in my quests.

Kris,
It is one of the hardest books to find of all Gaiman lettereds in my opinion. Which makes it super hard to find among Subterranean Press. It brings a lot of money on secondary market.
But for me I love the elegance of this edition - gorgeous black silk case with original artwork inlay, excuisite binding, paper quality, illustrations, overall design. I think together with Smoke and Mirrors which I will post next, they are the perfect examples of craftsmanship that Im looking for in a lettered.

Its Jeff Whiley - his info is somewhere on this forum, actually in several areas as he makes cases for all genres. If you cant find it I can DM to you. These particular cases are the true labor of love for me - it took forever to design and properly fit on prototypes, the entire process somehow took over 6 months. They are one off special request order and he is not making these for sale. But he still does custom design orders or his standard case with authors name on the front.

I loved their editions - slipcases are crap as they are super fragile. But their attention to artwork is phenomenal.

Those Hill House Gaimans are always stunning to see. I am always thinking about going after one of the Anansi Boys especially! The folio society is wonderful as well. Great adds.

You know it! LOL.
Yes it was the last of Gaimans I did not have. It actually found me - a gentleman who I bought a few books years ago reached out to see if I wanted it.
BTW Camelot has a PC version for sale which has much better than mine remarque. And reasonably priced considering these are hard to find!

Thank you everyone for the kind words!!!
I wanted to add that most of these photos are not all new additions - Im just going through my book files last several years to see which ones I haven't posted yet. Thus the backgrounds of books might be different. Probably different houses with some.

I did see that PC edition over at Camelot, thanks! If I collected Gaiman I'd be all over it, but my focus is currently elsewhere. I do have the Hill House numbered editions of American Gods and Anansi Boys, but nothing else collectible by him.

(I don't suppose you have the Lettered Hill House American Gods, do you? That book is something else)

Of course 😜
I haven’t taken any photos of it for some reason. I should.
It’s a beast of a case.

American Gods by Neil Gaiman.
Hill House, Lettered state.
Quite possibly of one the most unusual presentations of "American Gods" ever produced.
The book is housed in a gorgeous wooden box with a black marble door that what appears to have been etched with the the title & author. The book itself is made of my favorite - Japanese silk and so is the slipcase.

I'm not 100% sure but I think a few of first letters ( like A or B) were given to lifetime subscribers thus Legacy naming. Basically its letter B.

MirrorMask by Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean.
If you are a Gaiman collector, you already know how hard it is to find this book in a lettered state from Subterranean Press.
This book completed my Gaiman lineup from them.

Blood's a Rover by Harlan Ellison.
One of my favorite examples of world class lettered presentation. The traycase and the binding are just delicious. Somewhere next to it on the shelf is Silence Of The Lambs and its like a distant cousin of that edition.
