Love the movie and own the screenplay book, but have never bothered to read it, and probably never will (I just don't see the point).

Well, since the book is actually the screenplay for the miniseries, then should be almost identical. I guess it wouldn't be any different then some one rating a book if they only listened to the audio book.
(of course in this case you would be reading descriptions of the scenery rather then seeing it).

I'm in the same boat. I love the miniseries. Seen it a bunch of times. I also have the book but have yet to read it. Maybe I'll glance through it when I get home to see if it's much different.

AFAIK, the book is an exact word-for-word screenplay of the miniseries.
