It wasn't bad, gave it a 2.5. Would have given it higher (3 or 3.5), but being non-fiction, and dated, it has no re-read value for me.

Undervalued by King readers (from what I've seen on TDT). Entertaining, informative, amusing - I'm not sure what else DM need do.

I agree. I read this for the first time a few years back and just loved it. I was reluctant because I thought it would feel dated but it totally did not, for me anyway.

Overall, it's as relevant as ever, but I did enjoy the "warm up the old Betamax" comment.

The special edition of DM is rarely discussed; I came across one at a book fair. Nothing too special (I barely remember it), but interesting to see one out there.

I've always wondered what effect this book had on sales of other authors. After reading this I bought Dracula, Ghost Story and The Haunting of Hill House. Can't say it inspired me to watch any of the movies though. Would be interesting if he came out with a sequel of the next 30+ years.
