During the Octofinal of The Best Movie Scene Tournament, please vote for the one movie scene you would like to move onto the next round. Only the top movie scene will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given movie scene receives will determine its standing going forward.

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do watch each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a movie scene well, it's still worth watching for a refresher.

Please remember that his tournament is for Best Scene, not Best Movie.
It's important to therefore judge each nomination on its individual merits and NOT by the entire movie.

They didn't even use Red in the Shower scene when filming Psycho. They used chocolate sauce for the blood. :doh:

The Shower Scene may have been groundbreaking in 1960 and changed cinema back then, but fuck me has it aged badly. However, the Girl in Red scene from Schindler's List, will never age. Its powerful imagery and clever use of metaphor will last forever.

I don't think it's aged badly at all. I've shown that film to a few people over the years that have never seen it before and do not know the plot and they all have flipped out over that shower scene when it happens.

I agree, I would never say it's aged badly. Just look at the creative camera work in that scene.

I'm bummed these are both up against each other. I love both, but obviously Psycho gets my vote.
