Jerome kindly archived my first collection thread due to me having to sell off quite a bit of it. In full disclosure, I'm still able to gather the small everyday things (the cheap stuff) or hang on to the things that really aren't worth taking the time to sell as they have little resell value. For those of you that have purchased my valuable stuff, I can't express enough my appreciation for you. It truly helped my family and I in a great time of need. It has also helped me refocus on what is most important and to refocus on where I want my collection to go in the future.

With the gift that my Secret Santa purchased for me, it really inspired me to do something a little different with my collection thread. To show my appreciation for my fellow members who have taken the time and effort to obtain things for me or have offered them in trades, other sells, etc.

Dedicated to you:

From our great friend over at CD. A personal inscribed copy that Brian provided the shipping for both ways. He also included a little bonus :) Thanks, Brian!

The WHSmith copy of TBOBD along with the UK copies EOW were obtained for me by our favorite goblin, Simon. Simon also held onto the copies of EOW until Jeff was done with the slipcases, shipping them all together. Thanks, Simon!

My wife's family being of German descent; I thought it would be pretty neat to maybe start collecting German SK copies. Not sure if/how far I'll continue this pursuit but thanks to Frank for sending this over to me. Thanks, Frank!

Thanks, brother! The series is awesome though I wasn't really that impressed with the Small World one shot. I've never been much of a Lovecraft fan so I honestly couldn't say. Best guess would be little to none solely based on what I've heard about Lovecraft. You'd have to get an opinion from someone in the know. Better yet, read the series for yourself and enlighten me! :)

P.S. How are the "boys" doing ><

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/903/Joe_Hill_Cases_1.JPG
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/903/Joe_Hill_Cases_2.JPG

Impossible to find a non-custom slipcase that will fit bagged and boarded comics. So I asked Jeff to make me few for a test run. He nailed it of course! From left to right: Small World, Tales From the Darkside, and my Locke & Key collection so far. I doubt I'll ever find all the variants for that series but it's fun for me to try. It does help that they usually list all the variants inside the cover.

I'm not usually into the promo stuff but when Jeremy posted the auction, I took a chance on it for S&Gs. Turned out I won the auction and it's really a cool item! It no longer works as I suspect it wasn't meant to last long. Seems near impossible to change the battery without destroying it.

Yes  But the lack thereof doesn't necessary make it easier to detect that super dry wit of yours. Not a bad thing by any means. I often get accused of the same thing by folks who have known me my entire life. PM me your address and I'll get it sent out next week.

Yeah, it's something "odd" that I discovered a few years back. I dont remember how the subject came into conversation with my wife (scottish), but one day I discovered that she doesnt cross the 7s when she writes (and this is the very first time I noticed that it's not crossed on computers).

Which seemed odd to me that at the time because, I believe that in France we all grow up learning that 7s are crossed!

Nice book by the way!

Thanks, Jeremy! I've mentioned it before but my 9th grade Algebra teacher insisted that we cross our 7s or our grade would be reduced. Since then, it's been as natural to do so as breathing. It is irritating that it isn't crossed on the keyboard lol. I can't say with 100% certainty, but I believe Owen might the only one that does this out of the three or maybe four counting his mother. I don't recall ever seeing Steve or Joe cross their 7s on a dated sig. Would be interesting to learn where Owen picked up the practice.

I live in the stone age. My temperatures are Fahrenheit, unless they're Centigrade (not that other abominable word), My sevens and twos are totally distinguishable from each other so no stinkin' crosses (or batches either, for that matter) are needed or wanted. I go to movies to WATCH the movie, not talk or kick the seat in front of me or clear my throat every ten seconds or fidget around in my seat or use my cell phone (I don't have one anyway), and I cater to political correctness only by putting a dreaded cross through my zeros! We must all kowtow to society somewhere.
