So... just wondering... two of my favs are the limited Firestarter and the limited Christine...
but
I'm going with the FDNS cove here... because it totally looks like something I would create myself.

what's yours?
If you have to pick "ONE"...
post a picture of your favorite Stephen King cover...

so... pick one. you can list your runner ups, but only post 1 pic of your "mostest" favorite, otherwise this is going to be one messy thread.

yeah... that be my third choice, but being a big classic car guy, I'd have to put the limited Christine in front of that one. Unfolded that cover rocks.

I'm a big fan of the Viking IT cover. I remember just seeing that cover when I was a kid gave me goosebumps. Reminded me of that first scene when Georgie gets his arm ripped off.

That's my favorite as well. There are many others I really like but this one has been my fave since the first time I saw it.

Bill, the lettered? or the numbered?
Alas, when I got laid off from Advance Micro Devices 4 years ago, I sold my lettered SC and my lettered Salem's Lot... But one has to do what is necessary to survive. Had I known that I would have a new job within 2 months, I wouldn't have done that. But so many of my coworkers that had previously gotten laid off were still unemployed a year later, so I was pre-empting issues. :(
If and when I ever land a direct position as opposed to the contract position I've had for the past 4 years... I'll be on the lookout for buying new copies of these, should they ever surface again.

note... it wasn't used for that jacket... but for all the advertisements - magazine, newspaper, and store displays. the picture is the same.... but the text style is slightly different for the title "Pet Sematary".

It's my dream to someday retire from designing computer chips and design book jackets and album covers instead. I'm still waiting for Cemetery Dance or Sub Press to call and give me my big break. :)
Until then, I''' just keep making your new I-Phone's work and just entertained myself with making faux covers of some of my favorite authors and musicians. Here's a couple I did last night - using model shots I took in the past.

Damn, Boomme, send those mock ups to Gauntlet. They're doing a reissue of Off Season and your work is on par with whoever works for Gauntlet. Anyway...my favourites are 'Salem's Lot (not necessarily just the painting -- which is fine -- but how the cover sets the tone for the book. A small town wrapped in darkness. Perfect.), Different Seasons, The Dead Zone inner illustration in the Easton Press edition, The Drawing of the Three, and Cujo. The last two for how mean they are. You look at those covers and know those stories are going to be nasty.

I agree about the original 'Salem's Lot, I also like the original The Shining cover art. Of newer works I like Orbik's Joyland and Colorado Kid arts most.

since the thread needed jumpstarting... though I'd bump-post it with another pseudo cover I just finished. Using some art from a photoshoot I did last year.

You know when this thread came out, I never replied because I couldn't really think of one that really "spoke" to me. For the most part I felt most of the covers where "meh". But after reviewing all the US/UK first edition covers, I realized I really like the cover of the US TWTTKH:

Hard to pick just one. But the top three (I can recall) would be:

The NEL paperback of IT. I was always fascinated by the rain running down the sides of the balloon.
The Sphere paperback edition of The Drawing of the Three.
The Grant edition of Wizard and Glass.
