I listened and read lyrics of both. I cannot see the attraction of the Withers tune. (Note: While at work; do NOT forget to type the "D" in Dream On when you Google it!!)

I had to vote for Dream On; the sister song to Don't Fear the Reaper (Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away)
