During the third round of The Great Music Tournament, please vote for up to two tracks you would like to move onto the playoffs. The top two tracks will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given track receives will determine its standing going forward..

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do listen to each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a track well, it's still worth giving it a listen for a refresher.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

Surprised to see "Nothing Else Matters" getting lukewarm reception, especially in this group. It's such an iconic song, possibly Metallica's best.

Surprised to see "Nothing Else Matters" getting lukewarm reception, especially in this group. It's such an iconic song, possibly Metallica's best.

I don't think it's even close to their best.

It's really not. I like the song but it's not even the best one on that album.

Black Hole Sun - for me - is waaaay ahead of others in this group.
But Learning to Fly got my vote, too.

Metallica and Soundgarden.

I love Tom Petty, but Learning to Fly is one of my least favorite songs of his.

Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun (1994) 63.16%
Metallica - Nothing Else Matters (1991) 52.63%


And the following are eliminated:


Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers - Learning to Fly (1991) 47.37%
Haddaway - What Is Love (1993) 26.32%
