Exclusively DT except for #51 Black House which I got with the #51 DT group most of my books are from, and a #36 Eyes of the Dragon. I wanted to incorporate into my home office/desk/gaming area and had wanted to put together a DT collection. Have other books in other rooms for reading, but keeping collection small for now.

Since originally posting collection, I've also been lucky enough to add some amazing art that helped take my enjoyment and Dark Tower focus to the next level. I have added works by Michael Whelan's and Rachel Readman's as well as their collaboration, The Crimson King sculpture. https://rachelreadman.com/ and http://www.michaelwhelan.com/

#51 of DT I, II, III, IV-S, V, VII, SoE & #51 AE SoE. #96 III, #226 IV, PC VI, #293 VI, Gunslinger 1st-1stp & 1st-2ndp (unsigned). Since i don't have very much display space, random reading books are on shelves in closets. I have unsigned 1st editions in a hallway area right next to office my wife just allowed me back in after remodel :-)

New Collection thread! yay!!!

Nice set up Jake. I actually had to go and check my thread because I thought you had my matching number for W & G. :panic: You have #229, My number (for V, VI and VII) is #228!

Edit: and if you are looking for some extra special bookends, May I suggest "Constant Reader (https://rachelreadman.com/store-4)" and 'Silflay (https://rachelreadman.com/jake-oy-silflay-sculpture)' from Rachel Readman. These are exquisite.

After discovering Rachel's work via Simon/Stroppygoblin, I couldn't wait to incorporate Rachel's sculptures intom my collection. I received my 2 Constant Reader sculptures and after remodel at my house was done in October, i am using as bookends on the end.

The almost empty area with DT is where the CK statue is going upon arrival.

Thanks you Rachel. You can see more of Rachel's amazing work at https://rachelreadman.com/

Love the collection! You do have other books, right?

Of course. They are stashed in random closets and cabinets throughout the house. This is my only collection and favorite series, but I'm thinking of putting some shelves for display in a back bedroom. I've enjoyed putting this together and would like to start acquiring some other authors and a couple of King books. However, I've put this collection together over the last 3 months and have been advised by my wife my life will be easier if I quit buying books and Rachel Readman Sculptures (painted CK is final piece already ordered) until 2017 :rolleyes2:
My wife is the same way... BUT she has slowly come to the dark side and pretty much lets me collect what I want. She has seen there is money in the collecting side of thing and I play it off as an investment:)

I ran across #96 of Wastelands and replaced the 1st edition i had between bookend and the #51. It's in really great condition and I thought a reasonable price at under 600.

I had to put the book collection away for the last couple months while we went through remodel. With painting and traveling in October, i'm going to put everything back up first week of November when hopefully my last sculpture will be completed and delivered. Got this back today from framers to replace a poster with a more appropriate DT Print from Michael Whelan: THE DARK TOWER: THE LONG ROAD

This box arrived today on Halloween, that I have been waiting for to finish my office DT collection ever since i became aware of Rachel's work and the CK sculpture. I had everything put away until we finished our remodel which wrapped up a couple of weeks ago. I updated pictures at beginning of post with new addition and all the books back out.

I am very lucky that I came along when Rachel (https://rachelreadman.com/) was finalizing steps to creating this amazing piece. Thank you so much Rachel for helping me take my collection to the next level and making my office area an amazing place to work and relax!

I know this may seem amusing to some, but i had a recent victory where my wife let me reclaim a hallway area next to the office (post remodel). I've put my unsigned 1st ed DT books there (except Gunslinger) and a hardback Gunslinger. Most of my read copies of different types of books are in different closets/shelves here and there.

Found permanent spot for the Crimson King Case (red box) which was built so well to ship from England, I had to make into a permanent table. Put a couple of updated pics of the office.

I'm sure this won't be a surprise to anyone here, but I decided i want to expand my collection size from office desk with limited real estate. With a baby coming and other rooms restricted, got permission (yes from wife) to make some changes to office. I'm on the lookout for some type of display case or bookshelf to go in open space underneath framed dragons to the left of TV when facing (bottom pic) where i'm thinking I can put non-DT books.

Hoping to have some additions over the next few months. I really enjoy the collection being where i work and play and plan on keeping it that way. For those thinking it, i do understand about kids and exposed books. Planned future barriers/doors aside, I completed a 2-month process of working with underwriters of homeowners insurance (after appraisal) to have collection covered at full retail. For those curious about this, it's just like insuring jewelry. Appraisal, approval (longer wait), increased premium.

Are they insuring for full retail or market value? - that's a big difference. Also there are insurance companies that specialize in collectibles. Might be worth looking into.

Thanks Jerome for the help with my account :-)

I'm sure it's not a surprise to anyone here, but I wanted more books in my office/collection and added a bookshelf to move the books i had in the hallway to where i could see them.

Acquired 1st editions Thinner and Running Man. Neil Gaiman Neverwhere 1st edition/Signed limited edition 386/500 bookplate to FEP. Also signed to title page, with mind the gap speech bubble.

The hallway books went on top of new shelves. I also moved my Eyes of the Dragon and Black house to where I put the new additions. The desk is now a little less crowded and only has my slipcase editions plus my Gunslinger 1st and 2nd printings (unsigned). Of course Rachel Readman's sculptures and my bookends were not moved.

I have some room now to add a few more as long as they are within agreed to budget with my wife. Apparently when you have a baby coming in March, you're supposed to control spending :-)

I thought i had found this great deal for a Tennsco shelf with glass and it turned out to be a glass kit only, so i bought the shelf. With the track and instructions, it looks like the glass will not physically go in, though I admit to possessing very limited technical ability. You're right of course that I'll have to figure something out :-)

After receiving Neverwhere copy I posted above, I started looking at more Gaiman books and found American Gods #377 slipcase edition online. It turned out the seller was Borderland Books in San Francisco, so I was able to inspect and pick up in person. I included in pic signed ticket/key from the Coraline premiere after party (my brother volunteered for event in Portland years ago and Gaiman signed after borrowing his Sharpie).

3-14 updated pics to reflect return of the #377 (had faded window spot and overall fading vs the #188 in mint) and add of Neverwhere.

When I read your reply Antoni, I started thinking about how I was going to protect more valuable books on shelf since I bought a Tennsco glass kit that won't fit; anyone need a big piece of glass + track? :). I recently had some good luck that the power button on my computer quit working and got permission to make some office changes. I told the boss (my wife) I needed more work space on my desk and while reorganizing, solved the problem of where to put some of those vulnerable books I had on shelf.

While the Crimson King doesn't stare at me all day anymore, I'm happy how the whole thing turned out. I have all my DT books together and have the new Gaiman/Bachman books with the other non-DTs. Hopefully this will be the last post for awhile where everyone has to endure pics of my complete office again, but wanted to show CK + some of Maerlyn's Rainbow and book arrangement.

After receiving and posting here about #377 S/L American Gods which I knew had the faded spot on book cover from window cut into slipcase, I found this #188 S/L that had no window/faded spot. It shouldn't have been that big of a deal, but it bothered me enough where i snatched it up. Both copies are great condition minus the faded window spot on 377 (which is also overall more faded), but the #177 is Mint. I of course didn't need 2 copies but what can you do :) Maybe Borderlands will give me a partial refund...

After seeing so many amazing posts and collections here, I'm sure everyone here understands that sometimes you have amazing days even with a limited collection like I have. Receiving my CK sculpture, Gunslinger #51 and my 1st set of books when i started collection come to mine for me. It's also an amazing bonus to share those days with people on this site who get it.

When I acquired #51 set early last year, two of the books had already been sold. I asked the seller Departed Books to reach out to the buyers of Wizard and Glass and Song of Susannah a few times and in both cases there was no response. When Anthony/firemonkey66-hope i have your name right- (awesome, amazing, grateful pop in my head) posted on my thread that #51 for Song of Susannah was on ebay, I was able to reach out the the seller to have him end his listing and do a deal (via ebay so he wouldn't get penalized) where he would sell it to me outright since i didn't want to take a chance of it being sold to someone else (or wait). I purchased on Sunday and it arrived today. After a couple of glasses of wine to enjoy the moment, I opened package and am now only one book away from completing the set. It was in plastic and the seller only unwrapped to put covers on dust jacket as he had planned on keeping; it is in perfect condition.

I reached out to the seller of the original set again to forward a somewhat ridiculous offer to the buyer of Wizard and Glass #51 (including offering to physically travel there so he can inspect trades i'm offering so no worries about mailing). That aside it's a great day where i can cross out one of my two wanted books in my signature and halfway to filling the two missing slots. I have #293 and Publisher's copy of SOS, but the #51 is more valuable to me then both of them combined. I'm stoked/happy/on cloud 9 tonight with the full bottle of wine almost finished :emot-roflolmao:

Thanks to Jerome's remodel deals, I picked up audio cassettes wrapped in plastic of DTI and II (he threw in unwrapped Wastelands). I'm going to be adding more history books, some for reading others for display, so his copy of The Constitution Limited Edition was a nice acquisition for me. It's big, but I figured out a way to temporarily display. With the newborn some day being able to move around, I'm guessing this area is going to be replaced by a tall locked behind glass bookshelf and my dragons (an artist friend did it in tattoo dot technique if you're wondering) will have to be moved somewhere. He included some fresh reading material for me pictured, including IN MiNT CondITioN since I took 2 months off work to hang with the kid :)

As an amazing bonus, I got to see some cool stuff in his eye popping collection. Thanks Jerome so much for showing me so many things that i'll never have!

I also acquired some other pieces i'll post as soon as Michael's is done framing them.

I made some changes to my home office setup (again) so I could accommodate a Billy shelf picked up from IKEA last week. The black metal Tennesco shelf went out to the garage giving me more storage there. I really liked my Dragons, but they had to go to the garage as well since Billy is about 7'h. I was going to use some lights that Jerome recommended, but the cord isn't long enough so have plans to have electrician put some more led cans in ceiling and am toying with the idea to have him wire some led lighting in cabinets and putting to a switch. As a side note, am going to have my windows in office and front doors filmed to give protection to this side of the room since i have more stuff exposed to sunlight.

I've arranged my #51 DT collection (except IV which is #229) with my extra #96 Wastelands and PC SOS on the corner of my desk with one of Rachel Readman's Constant Readers. This has cleared a large section of desk for more books possibly. The other constant reader and rest of existing collection went into the case.

While I've been rearranging, I've made some new acquisitions. After picking up Regulators Power Wagon print from Jerome on one of his Remodel deals, I worked with local Michaels again who came up with a great frame.

I picked up The Regulators #323 box, a second Gunslinger 1st edition, 2nd printing (Fine condition) and an amazing Gunslinger Metal Case with artwork (holding my 1st edition, 1st printing). Special thanks to Jerome for facilitating these. I also need to thank Chad (aka cit74) who gave me a tour of his collection and parted with signed End of Watch, Skeleton Crew Slipcase PC edition, #241 Neil Gaiman's The Ocean at the End of the Lane, and limited edition Fearie Tales. It was a nice evening yesterday when I finally got everything put together and placed. I also have much more room now for additions even though I told the wife I would be slowing down on acquisitions for a bit (I think I just told her that a couple of months ago) :)

Had to look that one up - didn't recognise the name at first
Claudell Weems is a State Trooper in the Tommy Knockers.

"Claudell Weems had one gold tooth in the front of his mouth, and when Claudell Weems moved very close to people - suspects, for instance, or reluctant clerks - and smiled, revealing that sparkling gold incisor, they became very nervous. Torgeson once asked Claudell Weems why this was, and Claudell Weems said he b'leeved it was dat old black magic. And then he laughed until the glass in the barracks windows seemed to tremble in its frames."

I was supposed to be done for awhile after all the acquisitions 1 week ago, but my DT collection (except IV) is #51 along with #51 Blackhouse. I saw Desperation #51 come up for sale and decided I needed to add it to my small but growing Bachman shelf after Regulators slipcase/box add. When I picked up Regulators Print from Jerome (framed pic on page 4), I also was lucky enough to get Dark Tower movie poster when he realized there was no room to put it anywhere. Michaels once again came through with a cool idea, and frame looks like black stitched leather. It went to my growing garage collection where my Dragons had to be moved to after putting the Billy case up last week. One of Whelan's prints is up there, and I have a growing suspicion I'm going to eventually ditch the musical posters for more Whelan and/or DT themed pieces as I come across them since that wall is pretty much full now.

My wife told me to just quit telling her I'm done and get what I want :)

There are some on ebay though they are a little different and say Coming Soon vs mine which has July 28 date on it. Not sure what the difference is except they seemed to be priced lower. Also some smaller sizes listed as well

Got my poster in the mail yesterday. I dig it. Did you ponder for a good while on which way to hang it? Pretty neat that it can go either way.

I did b/c part of me of course was attracted to the backwards spelling. In the end I went traditional and it is cool it's double sided :)

Today I acquired something special to go with something special I got a couple of weeks ago. I have another copy of The Gunslinger 1st edition, 2nd printing (you can see a little of it in picture) to go with my 2nd Gunslinger metal case. Jerome knew I really wanted it (I mean really) and agreed (slowly, reluctantly, somewhat regretfully) to do a deal with me while we had a beer at Tailgaters.

It wasn't free, but the super cool factor of having this is worth the money I'm taking out of the joint bank account. :cool2:

I had to shift some things around in the case, but looks good under the black one I just added.

I'm a big fan of The Long Walk, but not many copies out there in decent condition with reasonable price. While this is not mint condition, I feel really good about this acquisition of a 1st edition/1st printing in this condition at $75 for my growing Bachman collection :)
