During the first round of The Great Music Tournament, please vote for up to five tracks you would like to move onto the next round. The top five tracks will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given track receives will determine its standing going forward.

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do listen to each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a track well, it's still worth giving it a listen for a refresher.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

I hope "Return of the Shadows" gets due attention from peeps. It's a classic track and so different from minute to minute. There are great and new sounds and ideas all through the track, and I hope people give it a thorough listen. But it looks like it has no chance now, regardless. Still, a tremendous piece of music.

With about 24 hours to go "Porcelain" and "Bawitdaba" are tied for fifth.

The poll has closed and the following tracks are moving on to the next round:


Oasis - Wonderwall (1995) 80.95%
Creed - With Arms Wide Open (1999) 71.43%
Godsmack - Voodoo (1999) 42.86%
Elliott Smith - Miss Misery (1997) 33.33%


And the following is eliminated:


Infected Mushroom - Return of the Shadows (1999) 19.05%


And these will go through a tiebreaker poll for the final spot to move on:

Moby - Porcelain (1999) 28.57%
