During the first round of The Great Music Tournament, please vote for up to five tracks you would like to move onto the next round. The top five tracks will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given track receives will determine its standing going forward.

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do listen to each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a track well, it's still worth giving it a listen for a refresher.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

The nominees are (please let me know if any video doesn't play for you):

It's great. But too bad we didn't get "Buddy Holly" or "The Sweater Song". Well, can't have everything...

In case you haven't seen this, I believe this where Weezer got the chord from: (may want your volume turned down. Beginnings about loud.

So help me, if there turned out to be any truth to that, it would be one of the best fucking things ever.
And it would make me love the song even more.

But seriously, I was just listening to Say It Ain't So in the car yesterday and I swear, that song cannot be played loud enough.

FWIW, somebody actually determined the exact day that Cube was rapping about based on clues from the song.

January 20, 1992. (http://murkavenue.tumblr.com/post/16553509655/i-found-ice-cubes-good-day)

I can't believe more of Al's music didn't make it through the nominations. Even his iconic songs like Fat or Eat It.

I need to take a moment to apologize or several of my posts. I made these sort of posts with humor in mind. I did not think they would be taken this seriously.

Great song. Shocked to see it received only 34.78% of the vote.
