During the first round of The Great Music Tournament, please vote for up to five tracks you would like to move onto the next round. The top five tracks will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given track receives will determine its standing going forward.

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do listen to each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a track well, it's still worth giving it a listen for a refresher.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

The nominees are (please let me know if any video doesn't play for you):

Same for me. There are groups where I don't even have to listen to the songs. I can sing them in their entirety in my head.

Ha ha. That was me for all the '50s, '60s, and '70s groupings. I'm not too bad on early '80s songs, but I find myself needing to listen to 2-3 per grouping here due to my unfamiliarity.

I'd be surprised if Thriller didn't kick complete ass this round.

I would hope that Puttin' on the Ritz gets some votes. It's such a musically interesting song.

Interesting...yes... a GREAT cover of Irving Berlin's tune! I have always wanted to hear someone else cover it.
