During the first round of The Great Music Tournament, please vote for up to five tracks you would like to move onto the next round. The top five tracks will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given track receives will determine its standing going forward.

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do listen to each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a track well, it's still worth giving it a listen for a refresher.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

The nominees are (please let me know if any video doesn't play for you):

Jeez, how is "London Calling" tied for last? What's going on?

I was just about to ask "How is the Clash not getting more votes?"

Also, so fucking help me, if The Clash goes up against the Eagles with a tiebreaker, and loses to The Eagles, I will be so sore over it.

You're hatred of the Eagles is like my hated for Queen. I don't know what it is, but I get so enraged when I hear them I just want to go punch somebody. I don't know what I'll do if they win the whole tournament

I love the Eagles so I voted for both that and The Clash. I'm all for voting to eliminate that Queen song so one of those can move forward :D

I imagine your goal this entire tournament is to just eliminate Queen while mine is to eliminate The Eagles.

It is. At least for you there are fewer Eagles songs in the competition. I feel like every poll has a Queen song, and sadly for me they always seem to be leading the pack. I might just have to ban myself from the site till this is over

So I'm guessing no "Bohemian Rhapsody" vs. "Hotel California" in the Final for y'all :tongue1:

 But it doesn't seem like there are very few Eagles songs. It seems like every time I turn around, there's an Eagles song in my face! haha

So I'm guessing no "Bohemian Rhapsody" vs. "Hotel California" in the Final for y'all :tongue1:

Hahaha. Wouldn't it be crazy if it really did come down to those two songs?

Heather, let's go ahead and make a promise that, no matter what comes from this tournament, we don't let The Eagles or Queen make us turn against each other.

I'm a big Heart fan, and Magic Man is my favorite. Seems a shame for it to miss the cut.
