During the first round of The Great Music Tournament, please vote for up to five tracks you would like to move onto the next round. The top five tracks will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given track receives will determine its standing going forward.

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do listen to each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a track well, it's still worth giving it a listen for a refresher.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

I'm glad to see Little Peggy March - I Will Follow Him in the running so far. Based on the voting trends so far, I expected it to be lagging the group. Pleasantly surprised!

"Mr. Moto", "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance", and "Apache" are all tied for fifth, wow. The two surf-rock tunes are amazing, but I much prefer "Mr. Moto", beautiful stuff.

I know, love that song. But then again seems like all the songs I love are getting eliminated right away :(

The poll has closed and the following tracks are moving on to the next round:

Little Peggy March - I Will Follow Him (1963) 50.00%
The Trashmen - Surfin' Bird (1963) 50.00%
Brian Hyland - Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polkadot Bikini (1960) 38.89%
