To my knowledge there wasn't a book (or short story) on which this was based.

None at all. This one was screenplay only. And I must say that, though there is no denying that its execution was poor, the story wasn't really a bad one. It could have been a much better film.

I'm pretty sure he did, but I can't remember which character he was.

He was the caretaker at the cemetary.

It was the only good part of the movie. It was good up until that scene then it went all downhill and got really, really gay. LOL, Apeface was in this?

That depends. Who is Apeface?

I agree with Aaron. The fault in this one lies in bad casting and poor execution. The story wasn't bad at all.

When I was a kid, yes im only 25, this movie was entertaining if not taboo, but upon reviewing with some age and wisdom,

absolute garbage

I love when they show the shots of the cats hissing and growling. Every time I see it, I crack up thinking of what they did to piss the cats of that bad. (saying the letter P really loud and in their faces?
