$26 and it's yours. I was just trying to set a market. Take it and I'm out if you want one.

Cool! Just threw a bid down, probably outbid shortly, but like you said at least it sets a market.

I dont know about USA, but I would tend to think that, for France, yes it would be possible : as far as I know (would require research though as Alan mentions), you can deduct about a third or so of donations to organisations.
Technically, here, I dont know how it would work as it's an indirect donation (?)

I'm not a tax expert, but I did a google search and come up with this link. I went through the questionnaire, and

http://www.irs.gov/uac/Can-I-Deduct-My-Charitable-Contributions%3F

I went through the questionnaire, and received this response:

(I used an example of spending $50 for a $35 item)

Because you received a benefit from your contribution, reduce the deduction by $35 (the fair market value of the benefit).

So I guess its up to you to determine what the fair market value is.

Like others say, consult an expert.

You cannot do that here in my province.. Cause I got something in return. The money I donated to Haven cash wise.. I will need a receipt for to claim.
