I took a chance buying From A Buick 8, it was listed as the CD edition, and it was super cheap. Of course it wasn't, but the bookseller just gave my money back. So it'll be a reader copy. I tend to give away my paperbacks as I upgrade to limited/gift editions or first editions. Though I may stop this practice, as it seems many here have some killer PB collections.

I only started collecting limited and independent press books a few years ago (3-4) and this was my first SK book from an independent publisher. Still one of favourites, leaf through it regularly:

Then Dan Hocker over at CD dug up something special for me, he tracked down an extra copy of IT gift edition in the CD warehouse. Which is my all time favourite Stephen King novel.

Admittedly I prefer the oversized Sub. Press and CD style, but I do love the unique style of the PS editions. It's nice to have signed copies, even if they're not Stephen King's sig. Plus the art rocks.

I absolutely love this edition, I've been a Michael Whelan fan for even longer than I have been a Stephen King fan. His art adorned many of the covers of one my favourite authors, Michael Moorcock.

The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born has a sketch from Dennis Calero, whom actually didn't provide art for these issues, but later ones. My bro had spotted him at a comic con at his booth but without his name displayed, asked he was indeed Denis Calero and asked for his signature. He drew the sketch for free, said not many people had shown up. Not surprising since no one knew who he was, everyone else had banners and stuff draped from their booths telling everyone who they were. Mighty cool and humble dude though.

My brother doesn't really collect comics or SK stuff, but did love this one. He needed some cash so I offered him $30 for the comic. He didn't care as long as it stayed in the family. Win/win for both of us. :)

I like that they came with the mylar cover, I never purchase them, and it means they were stored well while in the book store.

Got some new stuff this week. Was in the mood for some Frank Darabont directed Stephen King movies so I went down to the video store and grabbed upgrades of The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, as well as Mar 9 copy of the New Yorker (great little read, and surprisingly appropriate considering the movies I'd just picked up). So I began watch Shawshank Thursday night and realized it was skipping, had to bring it back, and they had no other copies. So I picked up The Dark Half instead.

This is my first (and probably only for a while) signed limited edition Stephen King book. I'm very proud to finally have one in my collection, even if it's not my favourite novel of his (that would be IT). The art in this edition is fantastic too, some of the best I've seen from Glenn Chadbourne, very different from his usual work.

IMHO it is not one of his best, probably near the bottom. Saying that it is a very nice PS production.

I'm actually quite looking forward to reading it (though not this copy). I like King's shorter to medium length novels, and I have been enjoying his crime/non-supernatural fiction lately.

Went down to the book sale today, got exactly what I was looking for. A reader copy of The Stand uncut, The Dark Tower 2 and 3 reader copies, and a slew of first editions. Each book was only a buck or two, except Mr. Mercedes and Revival which were $4 each, but in surprisingly nice condition. Unfortunately not all of the others are quite so nice, the copy of Cell has a few tears in the dust jacket and the gold band on Under the Dome has a tear in it (but for $2, it's still a steal). The last picture is book club editions (or at least I assume) they have no price on the dust jackets, that's probably a good sign of a BCE.

I don't know if it was released in France, I imagine this was published in Canada for the French Canadian market, Quebec specifically, though there are quite a few francophones here in Winnipeg. If there's a French edition here, you'd expect one in France as well.

It's been a while since I've added anything new Stephen King related to my collection. Been mostly beefing up other parts of my collection and waiting on pre-orders. However I did find a cool anthology I had not heard of before for sale at the local comic-con. It's called Woman, published by At Bay Press, the trade hardcover is limited to 1000 copies, but there will be a paperback issued soon. It features stories from the likes of Charles De Lint, Peter S. Beagle, Robert E. Howard, and, yes, Stephen King. 25% of each sale went to breast cancer research, which it and of itself made it a hard book to pass up. I was able to get my copy signed by the publisher/author at his story, Bird in Flight.

I like that when on it's side on the bookshelf, it's pretty much the same size as every other PS King edition. Makes for a nice symmetrical set.

Got the new NOS4A2 from IDW in the mail today. Very nice copy. Freaking HUGE! Weighs a ton. I thought it would have the same art as the Sub. Press edition, but it's all new art in addition to the Wraith comics.

My very minor complaint would be that the slipcase is a bit tight, almost assuredly you would not be able to fit a protective sleeve over the DJ and have it still fit. That said though the DJ texture is almost like a cloth or canvas, love the feel of it. Really it's an absolutely beautiful edition, well worth the price.
