Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but I stumbled across it and I have to say it's pretty damn cool.

Is this the new version of "The Overlook Connection"?

Terrible website.
Chadbourne is a nice guy, but Overlook Connection is frowned upon. Their delivery time is just short of criminal (to the heart and mind -don't sue me).

Oh, Glen is the best!! Shame he has to affiliate himself with this site as they are indeed a poorly run operation. However, the man has to eat.

I guess he picks and chooses. I used to buy from him all the time and have even been known to defend him, but I too had several orders that were years old and ended up having to cancel.

I'm currently getting my PS King Anniversary series matching numbers via him without complaint. Can't say that I've really ordered anything from the site outside of that though. 1993 is a tad long to wait I'd agree. I've read other places that folks don't really care for the service.

I agree that cover is awesome! Apparently he is doing an entire series of covers as there are others that I've seen come up. I love Glenn's work but I want the fancy book to go along with the fancy cover. I.e. gift editions, artist editions etc so I'll hold out for CD's The Stand.
I've bought a few things from David at Overlook and haven't had a shipping issue. An overpriced issue, yes, but that was my own fault and I really like the set I bought.

Since you deal so well with Dave, have him fix my 1993 order and then I can say I'm a bit happier.

No need to hash it out too much in public, but it was the wood coffin shaped shaped case for a lettered book. More than one person received theirs, but I paid in advance and never did.

Will you post a link for the stand that CD is doing? I would like to see it. Yes I agree about the fancy books as well, I would also like them all to be the same size, I have Joyland, the stand, Salems lot, and Doctor sleep and they aren't all the same size.

There's no details as yet, other than its part of their 6 book Doubleday release deal. CD are finalising Salems Lot now, and next is The Shining which is in the planning/production phase currently, it seems (some pre-orders have been taken). Then Nightshift, THEN the Stand. So it's a fair way off yet, unfortch.

An artist with exceptional imagination and creative flair, Glenn Chadbourne has produced some of the most truly spectacular pieces of Stephen King related artwork I have ever seen!

Long overdue, I think it's about time that Glenn Chadbourne is given a dedicated thread; so that forum members can celebrate and showcase examples of his stunning artwork - he has more than earned it!!

To start things off, here are two very special pieces of artwork that Glenn kindly created for my CD Lettered Edition of Stephen King's IT.... They are both absolutely EPIC!!!:clap::clap:

Thanks for starting this thread. I know he catches some flak because he seems to be everywhere but I love his work and all of the little details that go with it. Just had my FDNS remarqued and his illustrations for PS' Something Wicked This Way Comes are amazing!

Those remarques are fantastic T-Dogz! Think I'm going to have to send him my IT GE now....after Erin is done with it!

Okay, here are some more. To be clear, some of these are not my own, but were for HF auction items and such. If the current owner is in any way upset to see them posted here please, just say so and I will remove them. Still sorting things out.

A little sage advice regarding, Glenn. We're pretty good friends and have discussed this before, so I don't think he will disagree with me. First, don't quibble on the price. Second, pay in advance and last, let him take his time with your remarque. Much of, Glenn's work bears a deadline and he tends to rush it. When given time to develop a piece he does remarkable work. Many other artists take much longer to return remarques, so why should he be any different? Let him know you appreciate his work and look forward to what you will receive and you will not be disappointed. Also, he is a wonderful man. Feel free to share your thoughts and visions and he will work hand in hand with you.

Well said Bill. This is only my second remarque from him(had my FDNS gift done)and adhered to all three of those rules. I think his prices are VERY reasonable, especially compared to some of the others. I always tell him no rush. For the FDNS one he asked me what I wanted and I told him "hey, you're the artist, I have no vision whatsoever. Please do what you want with it" He did just that and I love it! I told him pretty much the same thing for IT except I do want something like T-Dogz version. I give the artist free rein.
On a side note I don't live too far from him and I have his address, thought about just popping by sometime to see his collection! :belial:

RF, is that big piece unthread you posted from Badpenny? Reminds me of the pieces he had done by Glen. Very cool piece either way.

No. I don't believe it ever made its way into BP's hands.

When I started reading this thread, I realized that somehow I never posted my 3 original Chadbourne drawings. I picked one up on eBay after Jerome posted a link in one of the threads saying the seller was a friend. After a conversation with the seller, I found out that she was a member here (now rather inactive) and we had met in Toronto. I subsequently made a deal for 2 more. These were part of a set commissioned by 2 members from here to be "insert art" for King's books. I bought Isaac first, after much debate.

These 2 were a BOGO deal when we realized we knew each other.

Alright, guys and gals. I'm been collecting my Remarques through Dave over at the Overlook via the Glenn Chadbourne Remarque series. Most aren't Remarqued inside of 1st/1st but book club editions, 2nd printings, reprints, etc. Not sure if I want to know the answer to this question but has this been a complete waste of my money? I have the same number throughout if that accounts for anything. I purchased most from a fellow collector and took over his number. Really hoping he didn't lead me astray on this one. Thanks!

Adding a remarque by Glenn Chadbourne to any book - whatever the edition, will always add value and desirability. You have nothing to worry about, my friend!

You mean the 1st/1st slipcases he did, I have those as well. I've thought about commissioning Jeff to make me a custom set for my Chadbourne Remarque Series. Might have to revisit that idea with him at some point.

copying my post from the CD thread:

So since I didn't get the official CD remarque from Carrie, but have since gotten Salem's Lot and The Shining with remarques, I went ahead and contacted Glenn about doing one for my Carrie AE.

I must say, Glenn is a super nice guy and was very quick to reply every time I emailed. In addition, he had the remarque done withing a couple of days of getting the book and it is on it's way back to me now.

I mentioned to him that I really like the Pig scenes he did for the CD remarques so I would love something from that scene, but left it up to him past that and he said he would come up with something good and "oinky" for me.

Today he sent me a shot of the work before packing it back up and I love it!

Overall, just a fantastic experience with Glenn and I have no doubt I will use him again.

I'm pleased that you had a fantastic experience with Glenn, as he truly is an awesome guy and a real pleasure to deal with!!!

People who get remarques from Glenn will always be thrilled with what they receive. Not only is he super friendly and eager to please, he has the very best 'can do' attitude towards any request that you might have, and always puts 110% of effort into his work so that you are completely happy with the results. In summary, Glenn is an absolute star and I just cannot recommend him enough!!!:clap::clap:

FYI (and I do this for all drawings placed in my books)

Buy some archive Glassine paper, cut it to size and place in front of and behind all artwork done in books. This doesn't help bleed through when an artist is working but it makes me feel better as a collector while it sits on my shelf.

OK...back to the normal scheduled thread program.
