I know I have vowed to be less, shall we say, in your face this year and I am trying to do just that, but with an early start we are making huge strides to a HF that will be remembered!!!

New members to the "Haven Fund Team", new books and new artists to support them, as well as the tried and true favorites. AND we have the added potential of Mr. King' involvement!!!

Also, I have been after, Micheal Whelan for many years and this just may be the year!!!

Just an update, Many thanks to JHanic, Priest, T-Dogz, Stroppygoblin, Aronstg and everyone else I forgot for their generous assistance!!! We have quite a few items already in the "Que" and more to come. An early start seems to be the way to go. Wait until you see some of the new, "Titles" and "Artists" we have added!!!

For some of our newer and perhaps younger members, the annual HF fundraiser offers a unique opportunity to acquire new and value added King books and memorabilia. We have auctioned quite a few "Exclusive to the HF" items including the famed "Ultimate Rat" FD/NS GE and many other unique remarques that are exclusive to the Haven Fund. The artists that contribute will do work for the HF they would not do ordinarily.

So, keep a weather eye and your check book open for this years campaign!!!

I am trying to take a "step back" from here on in for the HF and I apologize to anyone that I have offended or perturbed in any way with my newer tactics. It was certainly not my intention and any "transition" is bound to be ripe with mis-steps. It is indeed my intention to step into the back ground with the up coming fund raiser. I (we) did get to work early this year to bring you new and exciting items and have added some likewise thinking individuals to assist that have out done themselves. As a result, we already have 25-30 items ready to go for the 2015 HF and more on the way. Please excuse me for my mis-steps as I am trying to learn a different tactic and approach.

Should I violate my oath to not be a fore runner and "Whore" for the coming HF, please feel free to reference this post and I will adhere accordingly. It ain't easy to teach an old dog new tricks, but I'm trying. Time for the next generation of "HF" folks to step up and be heard!!!

Since we are getting ready to embark on another HF campaign, I feel it is important for you all to know that while I get a lot of the positive and negative input for this "fund raiser" it is really our own, Jerome (TMIDITW) who is the back bone of this operation. Not only is he involved in a lot of the "HF Enhancements", but he accepts the donations. Runs the auctions, Decides the auction order, Mails the winner prizes, administers the "Grand Prize Drawing" entries and results, Liasions with SK for the "Grand Prize" and overall helps me when I screw up. In short, if it wasn't for, RF this thing would never happen. He is the "Man" when you come to it and I am eternally grateful to be his "partner in crime". It's an honor and you should all be very grateful for his dedication!!!

And btw, "T-DogZ" has joined the "Haven Fund team" and is doing amazing things!!! Coupled with, "Stroppygoblin" and "Sirfolio16", not to mention a lot of anonymous donors, we are becoming a formidable group!!! Fasten your seat belts, folks we are about to start on our 2015 campaign!!!!

Who knows how we will make out in the end, but we have topped the "goal" every year for quite awhile and it sure would be a shame to stop that streak. I trust you folks realize that the items offered by the HF each year are generally one of a kind items. Most of the artists will do drawings for the HF that they will not do otherwise, including collaborations. So, be sure to pay attention to what is available. You may not get a "bargain", but you will get a very unique and valuable item or combination of both!!!

Well that got pretty dark in a hurry. I'll admit I don't know exactly where the sentiment is coming from, as it seems that the whole site rallies behind HF (what with the widget, and the auctions). But I can respect your feelings on the matter, charity is inherently volunteer (not voluntold) work and if it's taking too much out of you to captain the ship then I think all I can do is respect your choice to "step down" so to speak and congratulate you on a job well done during your roll as head HF honcho.
