Hey Everybody

The idea for a tdt.com shop has been on my mind since the beginning and talked about on the site for a while. I researched several options but we are going to start with Cafe Express.

The New TDT.com Shop (http://www.cafepress.com/growbag)

**100% OF THE PROCEEDS FROM THIS SHOP WILL BE DONATED TO:

The Haven Foundation (http://www.thehavenfdn.org/)

Couple of things before you buy

Items are "marked up" a maximum of 5 dollars--all proceeds will be donated to the Haven Foundation
This is the free version of CafeExpress and therefor does not have all the bells and whistles. If this becomes popular, it will be upgraded.
Products are "as you see them"--which means you should really concentrate on the photo before you buy
The choices and colors there are all there is :(
You should be able to choose sizes
The graphic I used for the logo is a scan of the original painting. I believe cafe express removes the background but I am not sure.
Please use caution before buying
The text on some of the shirts says "I held Palaver at..."--then has the logo on the back.
Why Cafe Express?

Its free to the site for us to use
It allows members to buy one piece themselves instead of me buying bulk and sending out
If we upgrade to the paid version, many more choices will be available
Its a quick, easy way to get something like this goingSo have a look and ask questions here. I would love it if people going to the Three Kings signing wanted to buy one but its totally up to you.

I am going to purchase two so I can figure out the quality. I have never bought cloths from CafeExpress so I cannot speak to their durability.

This is also a great cause so I hope people will buy. All purchases will be tracked and a donation progress bar will be provided to the site.

Thank you :grouphug:

Thanks you guys

I forgot to mention how Cafe Express works.

Basically, they have their own charge and we get to add a bit. So if a shirt is 17.95 and I put on the maximum 5.00...that would make it 22.95.

The charity only gets the 5.00

The pins and magnets--stuff like that are less than 5.00 mark up. Sometimes only 1.00.

So, at best case. We sell 20 shirts and make 100.00 for the charity at 5.00 a pop.

I understand the logo on the shirts is a bit faded. I am not sure if it was the specific run that this member got or if they are all that way.

If the quality is poor, I will pull the store before people get screwed. It was the only way to do any merchandise for the moment.

The one on Chris' shirt above doesn't seem too bad, but please keep this in mind if you decide to order and donate.

Here is the picture of the shirt Matt is referring to.
Judge for yourself if the black ink is VERY light.

Yeah, looks faded to me.

Matt
01-30-2008, 01:31 PM
Yep, it sure does. I am hoping it was the run but for the money they are charging, it may not be worth the risk.

I may have to take all the clothing products off there.

FYI,

I just got off the phone with them, and certainly over the phone they appear to be very nice.
They are sending out replacement shirts, and since I was a first time customer, they said keep the existing shirts for free.
They even asked if I needed the shirts immediately, as they would overnight them-I said it wasn't urgent, so they will be here in 3-4 days.
I'll post the results when I return from vacation ~2/11/08.

Matt
01-30-2008, 01:44 PM
Wow!

I should have not come down on them so much. Past experiences should never color the present

I think it's included in the price. :)

I think it's included in the price. :)

I know the $5 is added to the price. And if I am correct that $5 goes to the Haven Foundation while the remaining about goes to cafe press! I jsut have not seen the Haven bar on the home page of Palaver go up - I also made a paypal donation and it has not changed. I just want to be sure that my donated amounts get where they are supoposed to get! :-)

Daghain
01-31-2008, 10:49 AM
Ah, gotcha. I think Matt may have to add to the bar manually.

Daghain is correct. I have to make the donation update manually, which is good because I also update my excel sheet in the process.

I really appreciate the donations CR, I'll make sure they get added into the "goal bar" here in just a bit.

got another 10 dollars added to the Kitty.

Me and Dora have our Three Kings shirts ordered!

Randall Flagg
02-02-2008, 10:45 AM
Ok. Received the replacement shirts.
The logo is a bit darker, but not much. I just think this is how it is going to be.
IMO the quality (1-10 scale) of the shirts themselves is a 5.
The quality of the logo transfer is a 4.
The value for the price is a 4.
If you just have to have a Dt logo shirt this for now is the only way to go, but if you mostly wish to donate to The Haven fundraiser you would better off with a straight Paypal donation.

Here are the two shirts (old one on the right):

Hmmm...that's too bad Jerome, sorry it worked out that way. I am glad to see the size of the logo is right though.

I ordered a couple, Dora's has a banner on it so I'll have a chance to see what's up with them.

Matt

We got our shirts in :excited:

I was actually pretty impressed with them. They sure serve the purpose and viewed from a novelty standpoint...pretty kick ass.

I think the banner shirts look to have come out alright from the press. Matt, do you think the print on Dora's came through better than those shirts that R.F. showed earlier in the thread?

Matt
02-12-2008, 08:36 AM
Both of the ones I got were done pretty well. Dora considered the cross logos on the back a bit faded but that may be a product of the image (first painted, then professionally scanned, then cropped and sent to them), more than the people at cafepress.

I am very pleased with mine. They weren't exactly cheap but they are a cool as hell novelty for the site and its fans.

The text itself came over great

Not to mention, she is so smoking hot, it would be impossible not to.

If my Mum lets me, i'm gonna buy one, maybe two.

Matt
02-28-2008, 09:00 AM
I sure hope you can Mark. The base line for a proceeds check in our store is 50.00 (so we won't get a check until we sell at least 10 shirts or otherwise)

I am hoping that a few more people could buy out of there--perhaps those of us going to Vegas in October could all make sure we have one.

I could get convention rates!!

I think there is an add on out there for that, but we could basically use existing stuff for it if the need arises. :orely:

just so you know, i bought shirts back during the big give. i wear them a lot so they get washed a lot. no shrinkage, no change in shape, no fading on the design. very soft and comfortable. :D

i'm definitely going to buy more.
