I really want to vote for The Long Walk, but I've only read half of The Stand :(

The first half is pretty good. The rest not so much.

The Stand

it is not half as good as TLW, in terms of literature. But I love it more, and it is about more things. And there's more stuff. And more people. And more of everything.

. And there's more stuff. And more people. And more of everything.

I'm still unsure if I like The Stand because of its size and because it's a "more of everything" book or because it's a good book. I see you kind of feel the same.

Oh, but it is a good book. It is not perfect, unlike The Long Walk, but it is very good. And there's a lot of everything.

I think that's why I prefer TLW. The theme is so concise and the suspense is inescapable; the reader is propelled forward mercilessly while gaining insights on death.

Also, the Stebbins, Major twist was the shit, along with the ending, which was so powerful it made me say WTF and pissed off even while on vacation in paradise (I read it while in Punta Cana).

Love the long walk, but had to go with the Stand. I have recently reread The Long Walk and it was even better than I remembered. Havent read the Stand in many years. I think I should reread It again.....and the Stand.
