I have always loved this book. Very introspective, and character development? A, King masterpiece!!

Just as an aside, one of my favorite King first edition covers.

Loved everything about this book except the ending. Since there is no place for me to specifically dock for this, the book gets all A's.

Yes

psst... it was me who vetoed the "ending" grading. Many King books have lousy endings, and if it made 1/3 of the total grade, I thought it would be just unfair towards otherwise excellent books

Also, it would have taken us a lot of debate to define "ending". Take It, for example. What is the ending - the weak, half-assed revelation of the nature of the evil, or the brilliant last pages?

When they begin to forget again and Bill beats the devil? Excellent!

Yes. And when I read last flashback, and the line

"... he begins to whistle"
I cry every time. Really.
