i have a few of those beer labels, they're kinda cool. and i was bidding on the dice but it's looking like a few more people are after them now, i don't know if i'll be able to keep up.

I got lucky. My dice and CD were free (because all my friends worked at the local Waldenbooks and they knew how fanatical I am about SK stuff). I still have the dice. The CD became a gift. :D

Yea, it is. The BOMC edition came with the poster. It's worth about $5.00

At least he didn't claim that the poster was autographed! When these first came out, almost every seller said that! (It's a copy of King's signature on the poster, not the real thing.)

Me neither. I like some of the weird little items you can find on ebay. I also got a few other little things on ebay today; the original headers for the bookstore displays for The Gunslinger and TDotT plume releases, a Needful Things poster which says parting is sweet horror in reference to "the last Castle Rock story", a promo pin from "The Dark Half" movie release, and my first ARC;Rose Madder for $5.50. :D

Is that the thing that was stapled inside an issue of Entertainment Weekly a few months ago? If so, I think I might still have it laying around somewhere.

If I didn't toss it out, I'd give to Brice rather than have him bid for it on eBay (although the auction may end before I'll have a chance to get home and check).

Confession: We have a subscription to EW, but I throw out every issue after reading it - even the ones with SK's columns.

There are a total of 5 double sided silver toned photo art frames charms with some of Stephen King's most infamous books and movies. These include The Shining, Creepshow, IT, Salems Lot, Cujo, Pet Cemetary, Christine, Night Shift, Misery and Carrie. These double sided art charms are great because when the charms move around, there is always a picture showing. Each art charm has been flipped for you to view both sides. Dangling from each art framed charms are glass beads that have been fired twice to give them a bubble and wrinkled effect. There are beautiful handmade black beads with white and black dots and swirls. Even the silver filigree beads are silver plated. The entire length of this substantial bracelet is 8" inches long and has a movelable antiqued sterling silver plated toggle so you can adjust this bracelet to fit your wrist. The silver plated earrings with the hip and funky glass beads, add just the right touch for your horror ensemble.

I don't get the Christmas ornament. I mean, why? Having someone's private residence (private as in never open for tours, unlike Graceland, etc.) on your tree seems a little stalkerish or something. I dunno, maybe it's just me.

Vero=Verified Rights Owner.
It's an E-bay way for "owners" of copyrighted items to complain to E-bay and have a listing pulled. Very controversial.

But you can't sell the pics!

OK, I'm jumping in on this argument. This lady IS NUTS for even stating you couldn't use the pictures. How would she prove that someone else at the event didn't take the picture. Here is what I'm talking about:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Signed-Stephen-King-Book-Best-American-Short-Stories_W0QQitemZ250176942941QQihZ015QQcategoryZ48 775QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Different person at the event taking pictures. They look the same. Again, she is nuts.

Now, my complaint about the above auction I used as an example. What a %#@#%^ lier. This person makes it sound like they stood in line to get that signature in the book. King didn't do personal signings at that event. He signed 300 copies the morning of the event. They allowed you to purchase a signed copy (one per ticket) that evening. HE DIDN'T SIGN at that event.

I wish Ebay would allow us to rate auctions that are going on. You know, like a bull shit meter.

OK, I'm done.

Interesting story on the first one, John, but I wouldn't let it influence my bidding (not that I'm going to bid anyway).

That second one seems legit to the uneducated (me), it sounds like the seller is selling the book on behalf of Lumley's wife (rather than her being a big eBayer). Except I'm surprised they didn't include a photo of Lumley's signature.

I bought an exact copy of this in June this year from the same person (Barbara Anne Lumley). The listing is exactly the same. I was the only bidder (£180). I did not ask for it to be inscribed, just signed. Looks okay to me and it's in fine condition.

They didn't include the signature because it is not signed yet. Brian Lumley inscribes and signs it with what the winning bidder wants.

That second one seems legit to the uneducated (me), it sounds like the seller is selling the book on behalf of Lumley's wife (rather than her being a big eBayer). Except I'm surprised they didn't include a photo of Lumley's signature.

They didn't include the signature because it is not signed yet. Brian Lumley inscribes and signs it with what the winning bidder wants.

Oh! I didn't realize that. That is very cool.

Congrats, fsmdr!

I bought my Ray Garton "Night Life" that way. His niece auctioned it off and then Ray inscribed it to my wife and I.

The deal was it HAD to be inscribed...no flat signature--even though it's technically "double signed," due to the limitation page.

When I got the package it was FROM Ray himself. So, if there are any stalkers out there...I've got an addy for ya! ;)

For as long as I can remember since I start collecting, I saw almost 1001 different items King related. From T-shirts to hats, from posters to bookmarks, comics, promotional pens, even dog tags and big pink die promoting From a Buick 8.
But I saw very very little figures King related. Some belong to Creepshow (really cool...but really expensive...125 dollars each figure if I'm not wrong), a vampire from Salem's Lot, the Christine car. All made by small companies or just a private artist. All pretty expensive.

I never understood why McFarlanne didn't release a SK Series. I think that Pennywise, Jack Torrance, Gage Creed, even one of the Children of the corn would be an excellent figure.

I almost lost my hopes...until The Dark Tower comic was announced and released.
Are you aware that if the comic continues to be a success, there are BIG chances that Roland, Alain, Cuthbert, Susan, Cort, Steven Deschain, the big coffin hunters, Walter, the Crimson King and many others could be produced by McFarland for example?

Wouldn't that be awesome? (and dangerous for our pockets?)

I really hope this happens :)

evaluated price : US $1.00 - US $1,000,000.00 lol

I'm registered with Heritage Auctions, get their frequent e-mails, look over their auctions and see lots of interesting things to bid on......but I've never actually placed a bid. And I've been looking at Heritage for at least two years!

I think the buyer's premium of 22.5% is what scares me off. Plus, since I am also in Texas, I would be charged an additional 8.25% state sales tax. That would be nearly 31% in surcharges added to my bid (plus shipping, I guess).

Any type of buyer's premium really turns me off, and one of 22.5% is ridiculous! Maybe it is the "industry standard", that does not preclude it being a rip-off! (Why should the buyer have to pay for the privilege of buying an item, anyway?)

I was thinking that he raised the price, not lowered. I think it was originally listed with an opening bid of $199 and then when it was relisted it had a Buy It Now price of $250. Either way, it is an item that holds very little interest for me.

I have to admit it looks cool, but it's cardboard. I would never pay $200 for that. I might consider it, if it was an actual toy truck, but even then it would be too high.

They should have made a promo lighter for Firestarter.

Interesting thought! I don't think I have ever seen one. Here is a photo of the only promotional lighter in my collection (at least I think it is the only one). It promoted the audio only collection BLOOD & SMOKE. The outer case holding the CD's was done to resemble a pack of cigarettes and, I suppose, it was only natural to issue a promotional lighter.

Any other promo lighters out there?

None that I'm aware of, but I like you're lighter. If you happen to notice another one somewhere please let me know.

Firestarter is practically begging to have a lighter made. It would be perfect.

They're a series of seven bookmarks (oversized, just like the book!) produced by Cemetery Dance to accompany the limited edition of the book. Glenn Chadbourne did the artwork.
