This book had some moments but all in all was just okay. It felt a little clunky to me.

I expect to stay alone here, but it's one of my favorite books in all literature. Outstanding, and totally unlike the rest of King.

3.5. Felt slightly above average for me, but this is another one that is deserving of a long overdue reread.

Yea, I just never really connected with this story or the main character at all. It’s not my least favorite, but certainly towards the bottom.

I have read this story numerous times as part of The Bachman Books. Over the years my re-reads tended to be just of the individual stories and I would always read in order of my preference (as opposed to the order of the book). This would be
1. The Long Walk
2. The Running Man
3. Rage
4. Roadwork

Because of this, over the years Roadwork tended to get neglected and its probably been 10 years since I read it last. Just before Christmas however, I downloaded all 4 books separately to my kindle and just happened to see it in the list when I was on a flight. I found myself thoroughly enjoying the story and have rated it far higher than I would previously. Maybe as you get older, you connect to it more?

yes, that must be true

maybe when you're as old as bears you'll give it a 5 too (instead of the miserly 3.5!)
