My very 1st ever signed ordered from centipede Press. Love it. I was going through a very stressful separation at the time and it was delivered to my old house. Nearly ended up in the bin!!!
Oh and definately shouldn't be laid on its side, I'm looking towards leading a small invasion of the top shelf and oust a bunch of old photos along a bit!

I won tickets from a prize draw our very own Calla Wolf was running and had the pleasure of listening to King read and answer qs.
The added bonus was getting this book signed. I found it in a local book store about 15 years or more ago and it cost me pennies.
King had a good luck at it before signing. I literally skipped when I got it back.

Simply the sweetest book in the world......until I buy the Stand.
Combination of loving the story, and quality of production. I thought this Traycase was the lettered version so was very please when realised it was the numbered. Love it!

Thank you. I'll post some pics of the Weaveworld soon.
The bookshelf is great...But there Are 6 shelves in total and and I have 2! The other 4 are full of allsorts but the majority are bright coloured girls paperbacks about sweaty muscled gardens and such! What a waste.

Another story I love. Listened to it as part of my DTFest last year! Really impressed with the reader although think it had some dodgy background music at times!
Been lucky enough to buy some of the books of members here, so you may recognise the numbers.

Nice looking Insomnia. Not one of my favorite reads though. I sold my limited a while back and this reminds me that I might like to reacquire one.
I love the art in it too. Not my vision of the story but think it is excellent.

Waiting very patiently to see if CD have a spare Lettered Case for this. That would be immense if I get one of those for this book.
Colorado Kid - great story but always get the feeling nobody likes this version.
It is pure quality in my eyes.

This ones is now sold today. Went to post it and my post office is on strike, so can't get it delivered until Tuesday now due to bank holidays. My 1st ever ebay sale!
Couldn't resist this one but was destined for greater bookshelves. This is as far as I got with this.
It was replaced by another Joyland, Desperation, and a Cam belt for the car!
http://i1273.photobucket.com/albums/y415/DaveShack/FEEEFC87-B27D-4462-BA96-0551EB99C9C4-18141-000004B3E6DE0F43_zpsbf982337.jpg (http://s1273.photobucket.com/user/DaveShack/media/FEEEFC87-B27D-4462-BA96-0551EB99C9C4-18141-000004B3E6DE0F43_zpsbf982337.jpg.html)
Doesn't make sense but wanted this number. Originally wanted to get The Stand from my proceeds of Joyland, but didn't quite work out when the bill for the car came, so this was my little bit of extravagance.

When I received this, the packaging was so extreme, it took 20 minutes to just get the parcel tape off. Nothing barring a steam roller would have got to this book.

It was my intention to read this book as my finale to the series last year, while drinking champers but couldn't bring myself to read it. I do read the Long Walk pictured above often, but can't with any of my other limiteds.
Settled with a mixture of reading the Artists edition and the audiobook whilst driving to work.
More to follow in the next few days but as said it is a humble collection and not much more. Hope people don't mind some of my none King books appearing too. If not I will delve into some more of those.
Other than some random cd grab bags I try to collect the books I've enjoyed over the years.

I have about 4 from this book signed and framed.
When I ordered them, I think it was Darrell sent all 4 but only charged my for 3 of them, so contacted the guys and, long story short, gave me the fourth for free, very cool of them and makes me appreciate them all the more.

Irvine Welsh, very gritty Scottish writer, this book is vile in parts, but something about it, so different. Very good.

Philip Pullman is pretty cool. My girlfriend was reading one of his books from our local library, and on the title page he has put in an inscription to the library encouraging the local children to read as much as possible.
Wasn't expecting to see that in a library book!

Forgive my ignorance, but did you have a story in "In Mint Condition"?
Hi RF, I didn't. I would like to have had, but when I put hand to pen, it was quite dull, so didn't submit.
When I bought the book I had it sent directly to Allen Koszowski for a Remarque. He took a little time to return, due to work restraints and ill health, but he came good and provided an amazing Remarque.
It is quite a special publication having stories from people who post here.

The only reason I have three is because I asked Shannon to sign one of the paperbacks and leave one unsigned. And I have number 100 of 100 of the S/L copies, one of only two S/L or lettered books I either have the first or last one of.
And sorry about hijacking your thread shaq!

I managed to rotate a few, so easier on viewing.
I looked at my past posts and some are nie on 8 years ago. Man I have been collecting for quite a long time, and happy with my lot, which has expanded into the Suntup arena too.
A favourite will be added in the coming months, Replay, and also, Blackwater, which I am finding reads so easily. Like King, I hear the words flowing like the Perdido on a balmy, sunny day. Lol.
I am getting more and more excited by Blackwater the more I read it.
Collecting is fun isn’t it.

Looks great. You have some awesome stuff there. What version of The Talisman is that? A numbered, or one of the other ones
that there are much less of. Plus, if you can, you should rotate post 82 and 86. Plus your other stuff looks very nice as well.
That Stardust looks really cool. And so does SK. Of course the Suntup section is really nice as nice as well.

You got a Stardust?
:excited:
Looks great. You have some awesome stuff there. What version of The Talisman is that? A numbered, or one of the other ones
that there are much less of. Plus, if you can, you should rotate post 82 and 86. Plus your other stuff looks very nice as well.
That Stardust looks really cool. And so does SK. Of course the Suntup section is really nice as nice as well.
Cheers, will rotate later.
Talisman is artist presentation. 24 of 70 i think. Love that book.

Just the one lol haha! It is a PC version, so hoping I snag whatever Rich releases next. I know I won't think twice about it. Awesome book

Wow, that's great you have one of the presentation copies.? Mine is the regular S\L version. Again, great stuff. And yes, it at minimum 70 copies. The Collector says "indeterminate" number of copies and the one you have was not for sale. I would be very proud of that one as well.

mine is no 24 and very proud to have it. My family knew what the talisman meant to me and this was bought with inheritance.
Lots of sentimental value.

That's great. It's in a good spot now. It was (is) one of my favorites as well. I need to re-read that at some point. But
I have others I need to read first.

Very, very nice!
And not a speck of dust!
Thank you. Bizarrely, since I dropped off the suntup train, so to speak, I have still managed to purchase another 4 books!
Also, hoping to add a couple of lyras in the coming months, and possibly a couple of king grails, maybe by 2023.
So much for slowing down
Very, very nice!
And not a speck of dust!
I’m going to need to check that now lol

Looks terrific!
Thought I would add a few images and update my collection today.
Some are new, king, and none king, and others, just not shared yet but had a while.
Like this stunning Sub Press Shining. With all its issues, I still think this is the best limited of this story.

Doctor Sleep. A book I have had for a while
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_3765.jpeg
Very Best of New Horror. Man that signature page is immense. King, Hill, Straub, Gaiman, Barker, who have I missed…. This is a contributors copy, Lisa Tuttle, which I am really pleased to have

My absolute favourite none King book, Replay.
The lettered is an amazing book. Oh and a signed book of Into The Deep (cheap to buy, and quite possibly fake due to the simplicity of the signature. No background info to support either way)
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_3771.jpeg
The Long Walk
I had a choice of this, or my battered copy of IT for King to sign at the Lisey meet. I chose this one
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_3772.jpeg
Joe…great books. Not stacked like this…
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_3777.jpeg
My latest purchases….
Kate Bush. I managed to find 3 in the wild, and bought one at eBay costs. EBay first just to ensure I had a signed version. That was a costly mistake as found 3 in independent bookstores.
Why so many? Apart from getting a Kate Bush signature, which I wanted, there was a chance of an invisible message that had been inscribed, and seen only in uv lighting. Alas, none have these hidden signatures….so I can sell three….no such luck, I have a green signed, a purpleish colour signed, and a brown signed.
I never knew I was that type of collector…until now…

Postscripts10. Found on Amazon uk a few months ago…

Fairy Tale. A very nice limited, cheap build compared to Paul’s and other publishers, but still good to have.
The latest King signed limited. I’m hoping to see one or two more of the mood takes him.

The SP Shining definitely has lots going for it (especially the monochromatic interiors).
Stardust and The Case of Death and Honey - wow (could use some close-ups of those!).
Kate Bush is awesome, as is the idea of invisible messages.
I don't love Fairy Tale as a novel, but I do love that edition.
Thanks, I’ll take a few and post. SP interiors keep me occupied for hours. Lovely.
Stardust and Death and Honey are very special.

Yeah, I saw the lettered Dorian (which I prefer to the numbered, compared to Stardust) and put my name down for the lottery. But, unfortunately (or luckily for my bank account), I didn't get it.
Would truly LOVE to see a lyra lettered one day. Or any lettered to be honnest. Suntup (lettered / roman numeral), lyras... seems pretty incredible IMO

I think I posted it here, but was lucky enough to see the lettered Stardust at a Ludlow book fair. Loved it. If the Dorian were there, I think I would have struggled to do anything else but give Rich all my debit cards all at once. I was lucky enough to see the prototype of Death and Honey lettered there too

It's kind of funny how many unexpected signatures/projects there have been recently
Would be great if, somehow, a CD project was recently released (meaning delivered) and King had signed a lot of copies for free and unannounced to make up a bit for the issues CD created
Hopefully this year they make some headway into restoring customer satisfaction. I only have one of the magazines on order, on the faint hope it is signed.

Highly recommend it. It is a very special book!
I’m such a lucky lad. I’m in a privileged position that I buy books, that are truly works of art, things that will exist beyond the memory of me. I guess I’m the current caretaker of these books.
One such book may not be of that much interest to a lot of people, but, for me, it’s a book I ador.
A Doctor Who book no less. A lettered Doctor Who book..traycase in the shape and colour of a TARDIS..
Written by authors who love this tale and genre…….Joe Hill and Author of the story, Neil Gaiman…
I know, I’m building this up, but this character, Doctor Who, has been in my life for 50 years. I love, all iterations, and having two of my favourite author write and discuss my lifelong fictional hero….priceless.
So, Nothing o Clock lettered, a small book, one I haven’t read, here it is.
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/1100/medium/IMG_4144.jpeg (http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=32378&title=img-4144&cat=1100)

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/1100/medium/IMG_4147.jpeg
This traycase I love, because if you look at the intro to the original classic doctor who, the scrolls, swirly patterns are akin to the patterns on the interior. Love it.
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/1100/medium/IMG_4148.jpeg (http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=32381&title=img-4148&cat=1100)

Joe, Neil, and Brian and a love for a much loved fictional character. Perfect
I took some photos of my collection. I probably rearrange my shelves on a fortnightly basis. Just for the hell of it, connect with my books, give them some attention.
This is my March 2024 state
Absolutely delightful David.
Lovely to see something different that still maintains its integrity.
(Dr. Who fan. The things you learn on this forum!).
Congratulations.
Absolutely. My first memories of tv was, and don’t hold me to it, either doctor who, or Rachel welch and 1,000,000 bc….not sure which, well maybe Hartley hare.. first 3!

My top King Shelf (well almost). Numbered The Stand, Publisher Copy Skeleton Crew and Artist Presentation Talisman.
I just stand and look at these often. My Gargoyle doesn’t let me touch 😁

Joe Hill shelf……it’s a beauty. Horns, 1984, Fireman. Full Throttle…hang on, thats a lettered….
The pinnacle of my Hill/King collection. Collecting is a weird addiction to have.some people NEED everything, some don’t. But occasionally there’s a pull, a calling that a collector gets, and this is one of them for me.
Only 26 exist with Hill, King and McKeane signatures. Plus and original work of art.
I love the colours, and the style, and the stories.
One of the stories (Wolverton Station) was written on a train journey in the uk between Wolverhampton and Liverpool, a journey I have taken, and love because I can imagine how Joe could built his story on a train line I’ve been on several times.
Also, note, the person who sold me this book, James A is a cool guy, who is a dream to talk to and deal with. A total pleasure. Collecting books is a lovely hobby to have, but talking/messaging others who have such a passion and kindness to others is a privilege to appreciate.
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/1100/medium/IMG_4153.jpeg (http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=32388&title=img-4153&cat=1100)
Ten years plus of collecting right here.
Fairy Tale is a cracking retell of several King stories.part Later, part Talisman, but fun to read.
The whole story of buying a copy, with the trials and tribulations of securing a copy is typical of any Limited King release. I bought 4 copies before the official release, from Waterstones, Hachards etc, before the official release happened. And then, in an unusual turn, the book took over an hour to sell out….what! Others have taken seconds….well I managed two, assisting my purchase of the delightful anthology shown in this picture….the very best of the best of the best…. Signed by so many authors. Check my earlier post to see king, hill, Straub, barker, Gaiman, plus others on the same signature page. The best anthology page fore me, bar none.
Absolutely delightful David.
Lovely to see something different that still maintains its integrity.

Damn, my original post failed…..
Some great books and stories here.
The Long Walk has such a long history with me, from the original purchase, to me skipping away, fresh from Mr King signing it for me. Enabled by a free ticket to a signing by Ceri Vale, aka Calla Wolf.

Pet Sematary, signed to Dave, a day before my 21st birthday….not to me specifically, but I’ll take it.
Perfect Dead Zone, immaculate.
Sleeping Beauty….cd email saying buy before it sold out…. Tried to match my uk version, but sent a diff number.
And last but not least, Postscripts, bought from Amazon for around £140… nice. Currently awaiting a sub press green mile for approximately £50…..I’ll be happy if that works, if not, send it back.
I’ll post more shelves, but getting late….

Suntup exiting stuff..again, wonderful books, with a signed McCarthy in the middle of them all.
Genourous people allowed me to purchase the Replay lettered, my favourite none king story ever, and the seller even sent it to me when I still had to pay for 75% of it still. I love the trust placed on me to repay, without question. Another amazing person to deal with.

Thomas Harris spectacular. It’s only downfall is not matching set, but hey ho, it’s still a cracking collection.
I just need a signed Black Sunday to complete my set.
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/1100/medium/IMG_4158.jpeg
More Suntup books, some of my favourite. War of the Worlds, a story I’ve loved since childhood, biblio, and auctioneer, stories I would never have read if it wasn’t for Paul educating me.
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/1100/medium/IMG_4159.jpeg

Interesting shelf, Exorcists signed, including additional Linda Blair signature on my numbered CD (hidden away in the lettered traycase).
Also Ash, signed personally to me. Tito Villa from back in the day attended a signing, and he got me this, it reads “to Dave, where were you? James Herbert”. Immense
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/1100/medium/IMG_4163.jpeg
Gaiman. The man’s stories terrify me. Manufacturing babies for food! Nightmare stuff.
Also his poetry is so frank, often brutal and honest in a way I never could be over such personal loss. Words of Fire. One page at a time..

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/1100/medium/IMG_4166.jpeg
A few autobiographies. Famous comedians, footballers and Musicians
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/1100/medium/IMG_41502.jpeg
Not sure if I posted this one, but it’s the top of the list. I have some additional books to add when they are finished, arête, Lyra, Conversation Press, and Suntup lettered amityville.
So that’s about it for my collection. Kingwise, I’d say I’d be happy if I added 2 more, Eyes of the Dragon, and a Christine, and I could step back and just move books around for the rest of my life.
I’ll add Lyra Press as long as possible, and any new King if it is in my ability.. The Long Walk deluxe would have been another to add, but that is through the roof expensive now, and doesn’t have the same pull as Full Throttle did, or Lyras Dorian Gray Lettered.
Hope you enjoyed the pics, and most books I own have an interesting (to me) story behind them. which makes it fun to look them over. Cheers

Centipede Press just announced (via newsletter) that there will be a few more copies of the deluxe The Long Walk (not signed by King) available soon ($895), if you’re interested.
The Hanks, etc are signed firsts. The Partridge is also signed to Dave (not me). I went through a phase last year of getting signed books from Waterstones etc. Managed a few that are hidden away. Geddy Lee, Donna Tartt too.
I've just seen the unsigned ones. Not sure, I imagine beautiful but no King signature on it so not sure....do you think they'd bind my long walk paperback signed page into it?
Regarding Strange, Vess has shown some images of an as yet unannounced book. Looks good. I suspect an LE for that, rumours point to that.
I need to read Mickey 7 too. It sounds good.
Thanks for the kind words. This has taken a long time to build, good fun and love talking about them. My partners eyes glaze over when I start lol!
