It's interesting to me to see what people's favorite music videos are.
Mine is Land of Confusion - Genesis.
If you have more than one favorite, list them.

Losing My Religion by R.E.M.
I love this song, and the video is just so neat and bizarre.

YouTube - R.E.M. - Losing My Religion

Heart-Shaped Box by Nirvana. This is another video that I love because of it's sheer bizarre nature.

YouTube - Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box

Everybody Hurts by R.E.M. is also amazing. I love the subtitles of what all of these people are thinking. It goes so well with the song. I get lost in this video and can't stop watching it.

YouTube - R.E.M. - Everybody Hurts

American Jesus by Bad Religion
I just love how everyone is walking around, going about their business carrying their own personal crosses. The part where everyone is standing there blindfolded, with their hands over their hearts chanting 'One Nation.....Under God...." is pretty powerful as well.

YouTube - BAD RELIGION AMERICAN JESUS

These next two videos are from a local band(Lexington, Ky.) called The Middle Fork. They are both very entertaining videos and songs. This first one is especially cool.

Chemicals Between Us by Bush is also a rather interesting video.

This isn't an actual music video, but a live Metallica performance. Still, it is amazing because it is from when Cliff Burton was still around and it fully illustrates why Metallica slowly went down hill after he died.

"Lucky Three"- An eleven minute music video/ documentary featuring three songs by Elliott Smith. Songs: "Between the Bars" "Angeles" and "Thirteen" The video was made by Jim Cohen who followed Elliott around for three days and spliced the footage in between three live performances of the aforementioned songs. Maybe not a music video proper, but the closest I could become to narrowing it down to a favorite.

I have never heard of Elliott Smith. It's always cool to learn about a new musician though!

Elliott died in 2003. He committed suicide unfortunately. He was indie but had some comercial success with "Miss Misery" a song that he wrote for the Goodwill Hunting soundtrack in 1995. He was nominated for an academy award for best original composition but lost to Celine Dion. If you like folk/indie/singer-songwriter/emo stuff you'll love him. Very passionate. I have no idea what you think of when someone uses "emo" but keep in mind this was fifteen-twenty years ago. Emo has become a really stupid fad in my opinion. It (Smith) was emotional, it was raw, it was beautiful. The video I mentioned is actually on U Tube. Check it out by all means. I love introducing people to Elliott. Let me know if you have any questions.

Armand put The Hardest Button to Button on the previous page, I liked that and also Seven Nation Army because I loved the visuals - very basic but strong images.
I also appreciate some of the more cheesy pop videos, like Gwen Stefani's What You Waiting For - I loved the Japanese pop culture element to it, and again the images and use of colour.

YouTube - Vicarious Music Video

It was daylight when you woke up in your ditch.
You looked up at your sky then.
That made blue be your color.
You had your knife there with you too.
When you stood up there was goo all over your clothes.
Your hands were sticky.
You wiped them on your grass, so, now your color was green.
Oh Lord, why did everything always have to keep changing like this.
You were already getting nervous again.
Your head hurt and it rang when you stood up.
Your head was almost empty.
It always hurt you when you woke up like this.
You crawled up out of your ditch
onto your gravel road and began to walk,
waiting for the rest of your mind to come back to you.
You can see the car parked far down the road
and you walked toward it.
"If God is our Father," you thought,
"then Satan must be our cousin."
Why didn't anyone else understand these important things?
You got to your car and tried all the doors.
They were locked.
It was a red car and it was new.
There was an expensive leather camera case laying on the seat.
Out across your field, you could see two tiny people walking by your woods.
You began to walk towards them.
Now red was your color and, of course,
those little people out there were yours too.

I second that thought. I saw them in 1992 in NYC open for the Chili Peppers. Nobody really knew who Pearl Jam was but within five minutes they won a venue full of new fans who didn't want to see them leave the stage. I saw Danzig live once when he did the Samhain reunion tour. Samhain was awesome, but Danzig was horrible. I didn't even stay for his whole set. Glenn should have stuck with horror punk.

Also, in the Mother video, and in that whole era, generally, Glenn Danzig looks like what would happen if Wolverine somehow got Elvis Presley pregnant.

Oh, how I love the video of Glenn being knocked out by the guy from North Side Kings.

It's been REAL...
YouTube - Serj Tankian - Sky Is Over (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

Wisdom calls aloud in the street, She raises Her voice in the public squares; at the head of the noisy streets She cries out, in the gateways of the city She makes Her speech: "How long will you simple ones love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge? If you had responded to my rebuke, I would have poured out my heart to you and made my thoughts known to you. But since you rejected me when I called and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand, since you ignored all my advice and would not accept my rebuke, I in turn will laugh at your disaster; I will mock when calamity overtakes you--when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you." Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me. Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord, since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm."
