Book Collection :Priest

even if it is - bye far - not that breathtaking as some other collections out here.

I guess it is time to show you a little bit from my living room...
maybe motivating other "starters" to show what they have.

Every collection starts with a few books, and i am collecting since 3-4 Years now.
My focus was on 1st/1st - but then mixed with some signed , and some S&L.

Now my main goal is to get all Books at least as 1st/1st , signed and S&L are allways welcome :D

For the fellow collectors , that might be wondering - jepp there are also some Lightsabers in my collection.


But lets start and show a little bit.

So far thats my small collection - i am very proud of every singe book (even the regulators :D) because every book has a story to me, and it is hard to get them outside of the UK and USA.

I like to go to my goal of having all of them.

Of course i have another shelve with my personal reading copies - most of them in german, and i will but a pics of them in here in a day or two.

Hope to complete my goal once - and hope to get in contact of some fellow
collectors here ar tdt.org

Yay, a new collection! Good job so far. Some people have goals and stick to them, other people (like myself) go crazy and buy everything they come across, lol. It's up to you, but know that if you buy everything you come across, one day you might end up with a Secret Windows beanie hat and a nice set of The Dead Zone TV show trading cards, lol.

The Lightsabers had to move on, and got a place for them self since the space is getting tighter.
And jepp - i tested the shelfs by sitting on them :D but ... the space is getting tighter - and so they will leave this days, and make space for a board.

did not expect the collection to grow that fast, but there have been quite some good chances this days.

So two new buddys moved in today :D

DT#5 and DT#6 S/L - makes ma a total of 3/7 and brings me in the un-comfort-zone of getting 1-4 ;D
But today its happy time and a big thanks to the fellow collector here on board who sold me this fantastic books, in that incredible condition.

Today we are going in the next round for the Dark tower my dear friends, and i finally made it to the
(in my humble opinion) most important and most underrated DT collectable all times!

I am so happy that i finally found a copy (big thanks David!) in this "the-damn-thing-is-older-than-me-but-better-in-shape" condition,
without the annoying address print on it.

Ladys and Gents, the Oktober 1978 Issue of the Fantasy and SiFi Magazin, and withing the worlds first publication of the Gunslinger .

Indeed, the Heine edition is one of the best looking sets out there.
I was very sad as they said that they won't put TWTTKH in the same look.

I really can not understand that. But this goes hand in hand with the german "one word title translation"-policy :D

For the order - i decided that they will stay mixed - i like the look, and it will
match my DT Shelf which is growing ;D - more to come later!

Today i have added three long searched books to my collection.

A 1/1 of Nightshift, Salems and Shining
The Salems lot is a second state 1/1 but the condition of all three books is amazing.

I really was surprised, that the Nightshift has no marks or damages at all,
after all this years.

For me, there is nothing comparable in collecting, then having the chance to get
a flawless piece of what you might search for ;D

It was fantastic to get my hands on that precious copies.

Thats why i consider the hardest part of my collectors day as counted.

With out getting to dramatical, and only as far as i see it the todays mail carried (muhahaha) the only book it was not expecting
to get my hands on, and with big thanks to David & Lookwhoitis the hardest part can be considered as done.

I will just sit back - have a beer now and will spend the rest of the night staring at my new 1/1 signed carrie ;D

Just moving to a new apartment, and if you did not experience this before - moving with a bunch of sensitive books is a horror!


My wife could stop me from taking them one after the other per trip from the old -> the new apartment, but this i no fun - i can tell you.

I just stepped into the un-comfort-zone of getting a full numbered set - by getting a not complete set.
But the offer was a steal - and now i can consider 7/9 my own. (+ getting a full set at once is only half the fun ;D))

Finally my wife and me solved the "who will get the place in the living room, in the new flat" - discussion.
Regardless to say, that i have the greatest wife in the whole world (and any world not mentioned here in this post)

What i found was this amazing Ikea shelve, that is a perfect storage for the books + a friend of one who makes UV protection foil, that i applied on the glas doors.

I am really happy that i grabbed a few of the Ikea doors, as they told me that they will disappear. So get yours soon, if you like them. The Bestâ set will fit two rows behind each other (i put my reading copys, in the space behind the 1/1s) and so its perfect to me.

I think I may have similar problems with the replacement. It just fitted on mine before and the 'addition' may cause some issues!

As I found my MW signed DT 1 in 2014, i startet to think about a secondary set of Dark Tower books. One that is not dedicated to Sai King as a writer, but to the artists that have created the fantastic books and gave them this unique and special look!


I thought about continuing the "Artist Edition" that have been published from DT5 and up, but in this special case, i wanted something more unique and thought about a set, that is remarqued by each of the artists.


Until a couple of days ago, i was sure hat i would be the only fanatic who has such an idea, but then Webstar
poped out of the nowhere with his fantastic Artist Edition Set, and i only can pull off my hat
proceeding nearly 6 months faster then me!

Great work Pal, i am very happy to see that there are more guys out there who think about new compilations!

In my case i concider the set is not complete done yet

DT1 is "only" signed, not remarqued yet &
DT5 is a lose sketch, and the art is only connected to the book if you betray yourself ;D


But I am very proud of the new members of the family and crazy happy that i made it up to 7/9 what i never thought a couple of months ago!

A lot of guys here in the forum where willing to help and to find the books all over the net!

Today i made myself an early x-mas present, and finally got the last part for my Dark Tower numbered set!
A couple of weeks ago i found a very nice & crisp edition with literally no flaw, and started to talk to the seller.
Honestly a S/L Gunslinger is never cheap, but i was able to sell some of my other books and a kidney to make an offer that he finally accepted. :drool:

After 10 days of sorrows, if it will survive the transport, and another week of asking myself why the F*** is stuck in customs for so long, it arrived yesterday save and in god mood ;D
I asked myself all the way down, (and so did my SO ... did i say did ? does ... ) if this was a good idea or if its not worth the attention and money, but finally having the set complete totally pays of!
It feels fantastic to have this milestone completed!

Unfortunately my new shelf for both sets is not ready yet, so they have to take a seat in one of my regular boards, but i hope to get the final destination soon!

Thanks , but no they are not. After i got 5-Wind matching, i tried to find the others, but my search stopped at a point where multiple buyers bought single issues from grant. so 1-4 are somewhere shattered.
Selling my books and buying a matching set would generate a crazy overhead (especially shipping and customs really kick in), so i decided to just don't care ;D

#1 is 169
#2 /#3 are PC copies
and #4 is 1000something

Gonna swap #4 to a PC once i finde one, but thats all i will do for the numbers ;D

Just came home from my Meeting with jae lee and just have to say that he is a fantastic fellow! Was very blessed that he found his way to Europe and took the chance for a quick chat and some nice add ones. I really have to admit that I'm totally hooked to his style and hope he will join the comic once again.

Beside some signed comics he made me a stunning young Roland in my UK S/L what (as far as I know) makes it the only remarqued 1/200 out there. He still is on a bigger piece for me, but was unfortunately not able to finish it yet , so there is still more to come :)

If you ever have the chance to meet him, take it! Was a real pleasure!

Thanks guys - I just asked him for a young Roland, as this seamed to be the right choice for wind, in a battle scene - I love it !!

And he was super kind, I just brought a couple of comics Saturday and asked if I could bring more-

Also when I was at his table two boys - the size of the table - came and handed him 2 deadpool comics , and he was so "uhm I did not draw ... A fuck it" and signed them anyway - and the little fellows where happy ;)
