That's a good first book. It's not tied in with New Crobuzon and it's slightly less weird than an average Mieville story.

It's a great book by one of the most talented, inspiring (and inspired), creative writers around. His brain and vocabulary (English and the one he keeps inventing) are on a higher level than ours.

I'm curious what people will think after they've read the book.

I'm glad a few people bought this book. It's a sort-of post-apocalyptic Moby Dick. There's a lot more to it, of course.

Maybe one day we'll have a "collectible China Mieville" thread.
