TheDarkTower.org (http://www.thedarktower.org/)is proud to auction this new, unique and fine Collectible item.
Advance proof of "In Mint Condition: 2013" by Ambannon Books (http://www.ambannonbooks.com/)

Donated by Ambannon Books. This will be the only proof ever available to the public (there will be just one paperback proof and one hardcover proof sent from the printers to Ambannon Books, but these will not be for sale), and the only pre-release version of the book printed. Contains all sixteen stories and poems, and as much of the artwork that is available at the time.

Thanks to TheDarkTower.org (http://www.thedarktower.org/) member Shannon who offered this as a donation to our 2013 Haven Foundation Fundraiser (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?16943-2013-Fundraiser-Benefiting-The-Haven-Foundation).

Hell, Tom, you bid high enough (and pay for s/h) he'll send it to the moon, if you like!!! LOL

As always, the auction says "International shipping only by prior arrangement."

If there's an issue with shipping out of the US for whatever reason, I'd be happy to help any international winner as long as they cover s&h. Unless of course I win, then it isn't an issue. :P

No issue at all. The disclaimer is a boilerplate for ebay bidders. Many a fundraiser item has been bought by and shipped to an international buyer.

I predict it'll do nicely...especially since this is the only chance for contributers to get a proof too.

Crow-Man: "I predict>$100"

Good guess, as it's now at $103.50. Great great great start!

Also, I posted the auction link up on the Ambannon Books website and Facebook page.

Is this auction for the paperback or hardcover proof?

yes :P

Both the hardcover and paperback proof covers will be included, as well as all the stories, poems, and available interior artwork. I think right now we have the artwork for eleven entries. The formats of both editions will be significantly different, style-wise and such, but the format will the proof will be very basic, leaning more toward the paperback edition.

A day and a half to go! I'm already pretty happy with the price, but for anyone else still curious about the proof ...

Again, this is the one and only proof of In Mint Condition: 2013 that will ever be made available to the public. The first book of a publishing company that promises to be a big deal someday. I've been spending all day putting together the proof, and it looks to be very similar in style to the Trade Paperback edition. The proof will be one-sided (compared to double-sided), with all of the stories and poems and the majority of the artwork. It will include most of the front matter (half title, title page, copyright page, editor's dedication page, table of contents, not the foreword and/or introduction -- because I haven't written them yet, lol) and all of the back matter (contributor's section). Both the Trade Paperback cover artwork and the Signed, Limited Hardcover cover artwork will be printed in color on cardstock paper, suitable for framing.

I (as the editor, the publisher, your best friend, etc) will sign it and/or inscribe it for the auction winner. I'll date it, I'll put my fingerprint on it, I'll doodle on it, whatever you want. I'll also annotate the proof as a 1/1 copy. So, open up your wallets, it's for a good cause! Thank you.

Shannon, thank you for the correct spelling and usage of foreword ... constantly seeing people use forward is a huge pet peeve of mine (right up there with misusing moot). You have instilled me with confidence in your editorial abilities.

I hate that too! And every time I read 'should of' I get cranky (and I'm not even a native English speaker).

I'm pretty good with spelling and grammar, the only things that get me every now and then are the -ence and -ance words. Persistence, independence, etc.

It's only a snipe if you don't bid high enough to win in the first place! I, on the other hand, thought it went splendidly .

Now all I need is for just one of you aspiring writers to move on to international fame and fortune to turn this humble tome into an eminently valuable collectible .... come on, help fund my kids' college educations, you can do it!

Now to start coordination of distribution for all author's signatures ... and maybe a remarque or two!

The Absolute Worst sentence of 2012:
As he told her that he loved her she gazed into his eyes, wondering, as she noted the infestation of eyelash mites, the tiny deodicids burrowing into his follicles to eat the greasy sebum therein, each female laying up to 25 eggs in a single follicle, causing inflammation, whether the eyes are truly the windows of the soul; and, if so, his soul needed regrouting.

"So I see IMC is scheduled to ship in April? Awesome. Who's doing the "Foreword" and what about the dedication? Or is that a surprise?"

In Mint Condition: 2013 is scheduled to print/ship in April. That's the plan, and I have my fingers crossed. So, we'll see how it goes. If it's a little late, it's a little late, but I will try my hardest for that not to be the case.

The "Foreward" might be someone very well known around these parts ... or might be just me. A little bit of time will tell.

The front page dedication is all mine. I dedicate it ... to myself! Just kidding. ... or am I? lol
