Good question. I used to live for Roseanne Barr and i am completely computer illiterate, so my wife signed me up and stuck that as my sign in name. I went to 2 tapeings of her show and used to live to meet her and then i passed that obsession back onto Stephen King, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Veronica Mars.

I really like the idea of personizing to a screen name as well! I have been pondering the question since you asked! I wish you all could of gone to the UMASS event. The faculty meet and greet was amazing. He had about 20-30 people in the room He was personalizing books and talking to people and it was just amazing. No cattle line, no rushing, JUST Amazing.

I don't believe the choice of book is the winner's.

Brice, as far as I know you are correct. It would be a book of 'Tdt.Org" to choose. (liability issues), but would be personalized to you individually!!! Your personal input will be considered. but the choice is not guaranteed. Right, RF?

Nevertheless, get your entries in now!!!! $10 to the HF Widget or buy an item on auction. Max is 10 entries into the "drawing". Good Luck folks!!!!

Would the grand prize go to someone NOT from our site?
Any person who donates $10 in cash or auction donation (donating an item) is eligible. Not every donor is a "regular" member of Calvin's Corner. Some donors are members who frequent other areas of the site. Some (few) donors donate as "Guests". I know their email from the Paypal info.
The last couple of years the winners were very familiar to the CC community, but that hasn't always been the case.

I donated two UK hardcovers to Bill (I paid for shipping them to the US too) - I think he sold them for a modest amount and transferred the funds to the Haven PP account. I also won the Joe Hill ARC. Does this make me eligible at all, or do I also need to donate?

Not whining, just curious :)

One last question.........

If a person wins a "regular" prize, are they still eligible for the "grand" prize?

Example
"Joe" has donated $50, and as such has 5 entries.
He wins one "regular prize".
How many entries does he have to win the "grand" prize?
5? 4? 0?

You stole my question!

No. The buyer has not paid for the last auction (NOS4A2), and I have to account for the shipping of the prizes. We are going to be VERY VERY close to netting $12K. If we end up $100 shy, I'll donate to hit that mark, but if we are $200+ short, then we'll just go with that number. It's still more than last year.

For some unknown reason I have a really good feeling (I never win these things) this year that I will win the Grand Prize of a personalized inscription in the CD donated "IT" anniversary edition.

So, if I fulfill this prophesy what should my inscription read?

"To the Haven Fund Whore......"????

You guys fill in the rest and the winner gets a recognition line if not the whole inscription. Go to town!!! LOL LOL

Thanks to all those who have supported the Haven Fund Raiser this year!!!!

Keep in mind that King doesn't always inscribe exactly as requested.
Cook had a cool (I thought) request last year and King omitted the funny part. Cook still received a nice inscription, it just wasn't verbatim of what he requested.

You are correct, I had requested "To my 79th greatest fan" (or something close to this)
The idea actually came from somebody on this site, I think it was Robert Fulman?
Anyway, The inscription read:

If I won ...

"To Amber,

Happy Mother Day!

Stephen King

P.S. Sorry some douchebag stole your signed Pet Sematary."

lol, the reason for this would be that for Mother's Day I got her a inscribed books by Joe Hill and Owen King with the same "Happy Mother's Day" inscription. It would be perfect. And then the P.S. line is that ... she once owned a signed Pet Sematary (bought from Sharon Milligan --the woman whose collection I sold in the Unveiling, and also the woman who started MY collecting bug-- and she bought it long before I met either of them) and one of her friends back in the day stole it from her and then disappeared. so, if I could make it up to her with this, that's what I would do.

Oh, love. lol
