But since our move, it's just me, Will and Drew...so I've been trying to make the most of it, which has basically been to ignore the holidays (with the exception of Drew of Santa and kids good stuff)...

But the photo collection made me smile. I took each pic as if is was meant for me...not that it was, but y'all get the drift...

You all are my friends.And I'd like to say Merry Christmas too. It's Christmas Eve and it's keeps nipping at me...I can't ignore it. So I wish you all a Happy day tomorrow, whether it be with friends, family, or even yourself. December 25th is a day to be happy...and I hope you all are..

Since I'm leaving tomorrow to the mountains in the south of Argentina and I don't know if I'll have internet access there (I'm traveling with my girlfriend and she's taking her laptop, so probably we'll have wi-fi in the hotel), there's a chance I won't be able to log until the end of the year, so I wanted to wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a very happy 2009. Man, I remember when the week before Christmas would draaaaaaaaag by. Christmas morning seemed like it took forever to finally arrive. Now-a-days it seems like it's upon me before I even realize it, and I still have shopping to do! Man where did those days go.

I also really miss getting 2-3 weeks off from school too! College was the best, with the semester break lasting from the 12th of December usually through the 6th or so of January. This 2 day holiday crap at work doesn't cut it! I want my 2 week holiday back! (Wiz and his 17 day vacation don't get to weigh in on this, however ;) )

But hey, it's still Christmas!! Woo hoo! Have a happy one everybody! :clap:

Hey Guys -

Well with the end of 2009 upon us I was just wondering if anyone had any resolutions for 2010? I have a few that I'm going to try and impliment - naturally I do this every year and of the 20 or so things I say I'm going to do I always end up doing.....maybe one or two ;) but this is my list of New Years Resolutions for 2010! Maybe later on next year we should all check back and see how many we actually stuck too! lol :)

1.I *WILL* find the time to sit down and actually write more - I want to be a writer but keep blaming a lack of time on my lack of actual writing - 2010 I will finish something that I start writing!
2. Loose weight - Ironically I say this every single year and this year I actually managed to do it - I was 23 stone and have over the course of 2009 gotten down to 15(and a half) stone - so 2010 I will carry this on and actually loose a bit more :)
3. Quit Smoking (hahaha - every year I say - every year i fail!)
4. I will read more - much more! This year I haven't actually spent much time reading - i want to try and read more in 2010 :)
5. Do something that terrifies me! I don't know what yet - but I keep running from some challenges that I *should* have done - don't want to get to the old death bed and think "oh I wish I'd done this..." so 2010 I will do something - I'm thinking Sky Dive!!! :)

and that my dear's is my list of things to do next year :) Lets see how many I actually manage!!

every year i say i will loose weight and every year i seem to put more on?? hmmm

i gave up smoking 6 years ago, i didn't do it at new year though it was a new year resolution. i waited till all the parties were over and stopped on the 1st feb (i do still smoke when i am pissed though :wtf:)

lets do a sky dive, its something i have always wanted to do but have never get around to doing.

this years will be to loose weight and get fit, aren't i original????:wtf:

I found that the loosing weight became a little....erm...obsessive to be honest. I started off doing everything right - you know, good diet, exercise etc and i took up yoga (which i LOVE now!!) but it kinda took over my life to the point where i was being really really really silly with it. Like i was skipping meals, only eating soups and swallowing laxitives like they were going out of fashion. In the end I stopped loosing weight and just looked ill :( but this time I only want to loose 4 maybe 5 stone to try and get to 11 stone which is the ideal weight for someone my height ( 5'9) :) so this time i will do things right and take my time with it :) if you ever need someone for moral support when it comes to loosing weight just give me a shout :) im a good motivator when I need to be :)

And as for the sky dive - if your close to liverpool I'm SO up for doing it with you :) I was thinking of doing it as a bit of a fundraising thing and donating all the money raised to The Haven Foundation :)

Jamesy--I will have baby weight to lose (plus some I put on before pregnancy from just being spoiled!) so we should be able to support each other in making some better/wiser decisions!:fairy:

As for me, I don't really make resolutions, enough is happening in the New Year without my help! I suppose I plan to focus more on my marketable writing, since it is amping up & I am seeing some minor successes, and that I will focus on getting/staying healthy after the baby is born mid-January...but really, those are things that would happen organically without the New Year looming, you know?

Maybe my New Year's Resolution will be : "give birth" since I don't actually have a choice in keeping that one or not :p

-edit/rewrite my NaNoWriMo abomination to the point that I might let others read it

I wrote what I wrote because first of all change doesn't depend on New Year secondly it's a slow thing so it's not lucky to create deadlines and thirdly.. I know myself. Resolutions aren't my cup of tea. I change if I can (I try to a lot) but resolutions don't help.

well it's D Day for me tomorrow - I'm quitting smoking!! :( and............ I'm starting my diet!!
To celebrate I've just eaten a wicked Zinger Meal box from KFC and then later on I have a nice little tub of Haggen Dass Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream in the freezer!! I can't wait of course I just need to wait for my bloat to go down....damn those KFC boxes are big!!

Roll on tomorrow - i'm kinda ready for the whole no smoking thing now! I think I've gotten my head in the right place for it - the diet should be good cause I'm very stubborn so I'm pretty sre I can do it! :)I only want to try and loose 4 stone and i've given myself 6 months to do it!! I'm growing a bit of a stomach as I get older (although I'm not fat - I can squeeze into most 32" waist trousers but theres a belly there!) and I need to do more exercise.

I'm not sure I count these as year resolutions, knowing how undisciplined I am but I hope to achieve in the near future-

- Um... more discipline. (This will help all the others.)

- A bit more exercise. Not too much as I think it's a bit overrated and I tend to feel ill afterwards. If it makes you feel ill it can't be that good for you right? Perhaps I'll do some swimming and ride my bike more.

- More writing. I've a few projects I've started but I'm terribly unmotivated. I hope to finish all I've started this year. This includes comic scripts and a book of interrelated short stories. Also work on a longer muli- part comic script that exists in my mind so far...

- Send my completed scripts to Rebellion (I hope they're published in 2000 AD as Future Shocks or Terror Tales). If they don't accept them, send em to a fanzine or publish em myself, even if it's just online.

- Do something else creative.

- Get a job. If I can't get permanent work at least try to earn more with temping even if it's only leaflet delivery. (Actually I need to register again with the Jobcentre tomorrow. I put it off last week. Naughty me.)

- Be generally more positive and outgoing.

- Of course pay off my debts, but this is ongoing. Really ongoing if I'm just unemployed or temping.

- Be more sociable. This could mean hanging out with friends more. I quite like doing stuff alone though, but it's not good for long. Perhaps even have one of those relationship things that are so popular. I think that might be a long term goal though, or just a nice fantasy. (Still don't knock fantasy, it's better than real life most of the time. )
