I searched around online the other day and wasn't able to find anything. I have a couple more resources I want to tap. I'll update if I discover anything.

Not sure of the artist for the images you have provided, but The Body is one of 4 stories that originally appeared in Different Seasons (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?t=1042)

Yep, I know.
And I am also wondering if only The Body have been illustrated or not.

If yes, it would make sense to think that the illustrations are in a book with only that story, no?

Note : the text under the images is in english... so English/ American edition???

The U.S. Trade First edition has the most minimal of illustrations-4 total that precede each of the stories. They are not much more than a box with the four season icons placed each in a corner, with the title of the story in the middle.

i'm not sure this is it but there was an 80 page illustrated paperback edition of the body published in a condensed version by penguin longman publishing in 1999. it was a penguin reader, something for kids, so if this is where the illustrations came from it's not too surprising that it would be easily overlooked by collectors. can't find any info on the artist. amazon has a few copies available here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0582418178/ref=dp_olp_2/002-3687298-3136006) if anyone wants to pick one up.

Don't expect a 1st impression. I think it's about the 15th now.

No way of knowing from Amazon. They were selling 5th impressions years ago.

I meant what would I see in the book that would tell me...something like fifteenth printing?

I have this edition but had forgotten all about it. I just dug it out. The illustrations are indeed from this book. The artist is Ian Andrew.

The book was (according to the copyright page) published first in 1994 by Penquin books. My edition was published in 1999.

The 1999 book is the Penguin Readers version. It is different from the original 1994 version, which is very hard to find.

OK THEN... Could you provide me the name of the illustrator of the other books, the cover & pictures of the illustrations?
I will create new threads for 'em :-)

Brice

I don't have them. I just searched the net and found them. They said they were illustrated, but didn't give the illustrator. I can't right now, but if you like I can track down the covers and the pages I visited for you.

I just got my copy of the Penguin The Body. It appears it's a 13th printing (all there is on the copyright page is the numeric 13.) It says the "New edition first published 1999".

The illustrations are all there.

I may try to order the Penguin edition of Misery too.

thanks for the info!

If you do order, could you please take pictures of the Misery illustrations?
(and if you do order the breathing method as well... :p )
