Most of my books are either used or have been carted around everywhere...so don't expect many prestine books, though some are still great condition. I'm cateloguing the rest of my library tonight as I've had many new additions and recently got new units for them. I like my books worn and torn the longer I have them :)

Hold on, I'm still cateloguing my stuff and organizing it, my books are scattered all through my house lol. I'll get pictures. I want to keep an online catelogue so I'll always be able to know what I have to lend books out.

I'll take some pictures in a bit.

I took some pictures today...I've plenty of books around my place I could take pictures of, some of them I hope my mom will let me assimilate into my collection. All the Tolkien books (which I'll never read lol) look very nice and would love to display them :) I took some pictures will upload tomorrow

Some pictures of some shelves of mine. The really full shelf is just one around the house that is motly full of crap but had a few nice books. The rest are from my personal collection which constantly grows. I'll take more individual pics of some of my favourite books later.

Mattrick
06-10-2012, 11:30 AM
I have absolutely no idea, I've read so many great ones lately and more great ones to read piled up lol. I know adore Candide and Notes From Underground. King-wise probably Bag of Bones.

Well my collection keeps growing - gotten some new great books I'll take pictures of when I am home:

Bag of Bones (Hardcover, 1st edition)
Rose Madder (Hardcover)
Desperation (Hardcover)
Great Short Works of Henry James
Great Short Works of Hawthorne
War and Peace in 4 volumes by Tolsoi (hardcovers, printed in 1889)
The Scarlet Letter (Hardcover)

The same book store had about 8 different Tolstoi's, all from the same collection printed at the same time. My mom is going to pick the rest of them up for me as my christmas gift. Just having a book that is almost 130 years old is awesome. Was also happy to find a first edition of Bag of Bones in pristine condition (as it's my favourite stand up alone by King), even though I place no value on first editions, just cool because I love the book.

Got some new books today: Cat's Cradle by Vonnegut, must be old because it has him labelled as Jr; The Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, a nice small read; and Vilette by Charlotte Bronte, which I hope is at least half as good as Jane Eyre. I still need to take pictures of my of my collection and I will today and upload them henceforth. Also have some books on hold, old Fitzgeralds and Great Expectations :D

This is probably not why your pictures shrink, but if I turn my digital camera sideways to take a picture it compresses them automatically. So I take them 'right side up' and use Microsoft Office Picture Manager to crop and compress them.

New Pick ups...total cost 55 dollars. The next batch of books I have on hold are actually all Stephen King hardcovers I've never had, so it was a fortunate find. Will post pictures of them (The Night Shift I have on hold is ace) in a couple weeks.

These are from the same set as my four vol. War and Peace (which I'll repost below it). All of them printed in England in the late 1880's. The Physiology of War: Power and Liberty (Napoleon's Russian Campaign) from this set is very scarce and My Religion is the first ever English edition. The small book in the middle has 23 Short Stories by Tolstoi

Those are very pretty books. But I don't recognize the publisher. Who is it? Easton Press?

Mattrick

It's published by Encyclopedia Brittanica. It's a set filled with all the great books, from Euripides to Orwell they are in there. All the books are unabridged. There works about science, psychology, sociology, philosophy and many great works of fiction. The contents of these books is so broad I've been too intimidated to catelogue everything that is in them. There are unabridged editions of War and Peace, Middlemarch and The Brother's Karamazov which are all very large books and there are two pages per every page, some very large books are not in their own books either lol

Saw in the Jays thread that you lived quite close to me and decided to creep your collection. Only to discover that all of the image links are broken! How and I supposed to gawk at the local boys collection if I can't see it, huh?
