Lily Collins, Kristen Bell, Logan Lerman, Nat Wolff, Liana Liberato, Rusty Joiner and Patrick Schwarzenegger have joined the cast of Josh Boone's directorial debut "Writers," which will also feature a cameo by author Stephen King as himself.

Judy Cairo of Informant Media is producing the indie pic, which starts production next week in North Carolina.

Greg Kinnear stars as a famous novelist obsessed with his ex-wife, who will be played by Jennifer Connelly. Collins co-stars as their collegiate daughter who's pursued by a fellow writing student (Lerman). Wolff will play Collins' young brother, who's in love with Liberato's character. Bell will play Kinnear's friend with benefits who tries to help him get over his ex-wife.

The dramedy, penned by Boone, interweaves the stories of the family members and their love interests over the course of one tumultuous year.

Informant's Michael A. Simpson and Eric Brenner will exec produce with Myles Nestel and Lisa Wilson of The Solution Entertainment Group, which is also handling international sales. CAA is handling U.S. rights for the film, which is produced in association with MICA Entertainment.

Collins next stars as Snow White in Relativity Media's "Mirror Mirror." Lerman will soon be seen in Summit's coming-of-age drama "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." Wolff, who starred in the popular Nickelodeon series "The Naked Brothers Band," co-stars in Bruce Beresford's "Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding." Liberato will soon be seen opposite Aaron Eckhart in Informant's upcoming action-thriller "The Expatriate." Bell, who currently stars on Showtime's "House of Lies," next appears in Relativity's omnibus comedy "Movie 43."

CAA reps Collins, Bell, Lerman, Liberato and Wolff, who's managed by Untitled Entertainment. Lerman is managed by Lisa Lerman Management, while Bell is managed by Brookside Artist Management. King is repped by Paradigm. Schwarzenegger is repped by Management 360.

Thanks to RF for the heads up, it looks like this film's title was recently changed to "Stuck in Love": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2205697/

No trailer yet, it seems.

I had to look at the original article to check the date... when I saw "next week" and thought it might be filming now, I thought, "Kristen Bell is as pregnant as I am... that would make for an interesting friend-with-benefits!"

Hope to hear more about this in the near future!!

The trailer was released last week if anyone's interested. I was eager to see it, but it just looks like a generic all-writers-care-about-is-trying-to-find-someone-to-have-sex-with film. I'll probably pass.

Ok guys, I am dead serious about this ultimatum. Watch this movie, OR ELSE!

Watched it this morning with the wife over breakfast and numerous cups of Joe. My wife who has been a super good sport with my Stephen King collecting just kept looking at me incredulously repeating things like, "really??" "you've got to be kidding" and "OMG, are they now playing a Conor Oberst/Brighteyes song???"

Movie is STUCK IN LOVE (2012), with Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly.

So to give you a rundown with no spoilers the movie sountrack starts off with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros song "HOME"...other great songs on the soundtrack include songs from Brighteyes and Conor oberst (who happen to be favs of mine), as well as Elliott Smith, and The National. The soundtrack was amazing, but actually, the coolest part of the entire movie happens to be something entirely different altogether.

Go and grab your wife or husband and be totally entertained and surprised outta your mind like I was.

The directorial debut of John Boone, Stuck in Love stars Greg Kinnear as Bill Borgens, a highly respected and award-winning novelist who has been unable to write a word since his wife Erica (Jennifer Connelly) left him three years ago. While he pines for his ex, their oldest daughter Sam (Lily Collins) is about to publish her first novel, but is consumed with hatred towards her mother. Meanwhile, their younger son, Rusty (Nat Wolff), an obsessive Stephen King fan, falls in love with a fellow teenager who is dealing with an addiction to drugs. Stuck in Love screened at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival under the title Writers

We'll let this thread hang around a couple of days, then I'll merge it into the thread in The Oracle.

Viewed it today. An enjoyable drama, but it's hard to find sympathy or feel connected with a writer living in (I believe the Hamptons), whose child gets her first submission (to Scribner no less) accepted without help from the famous novelist, and whose son gets a cold call from Stephen King (imagine that), all the while spoiled 1% characters have the trials and tribulations of life.
The best parts were seeing the SK stuff in the background and hearing King's "walk on" phone call.
I give it 3/6 beers on the RFSRS. Should have been 2 beers but the King stuff kept me on the edge of my seat and the movie was mercifully cut to only ~96 minutes.

Yeah the book porn was my favorite part.
