Holy mackerel! That looks fantastic. My wife loves this book and as such I may be able to persuade her to make room in our budget to make a run at this one.

The picture doesn't do it justice. There all all kinds of nuances that are in the drawing.

Love the picture.....question though. Why Maitz on this one and not Stutzman?

Just curious

To be different.

Maitz likes to do art related to Maritime images, and he was eager to do Duma Key after reading the story. It also makes the book and art very unique.

Mr. Maitz is fond of the subject matter. What a wonderful remarque he donated!!!!

Since I lost out on the Easton "TDZ", I'll be keeping a weather eye on this one!!!!

Way to go, El Jefe!!!!!

From what I have heard, Mr Maitz is an absolutetly "wonderful man" to deal with!!!!! If he was kind enough to provide this art, that should "seal the deal"!!!!

Excellent! Thanks for explaining. Hope I didn't offend anyone by asking, I was just curious.

If Don was to explain the other arm in the picture, I would think it would be the "Phantom Pain" arm. Remember, he only had one arm but mentions phantom feelings in an arm no longer there.

Quick query: Who donated this? The info above says The Overlook Connection but the auction says our own AKC?
Just curious who deserves praise (in addition to Merlin) for this awesome auction...

The Artist Don Maitz, The Overlook Connection. AKC, and Merlin1958

This book and case was The Overlook. AKC is responsible for the "Sister" piece which, is even better if you can believe!!!!! All I did was ask Mr. Maitz to help out and he was more than happy to do so.
