Shannon

Hello, I made something as a joke a few days ago, but I think it actually came out kind of decent, lol. If anyone else is on board with the idea, I'd love to have people use Microsoft Paint and "draw" some Stephen King book covers! Here is mine:

noal

Wow, that's great! I might have a go later but it would have to be a simple one!

Plus I don't think I could match the high standard set!

All of them are awesome so far. As far as me doing one, no. I used to be a graphic artist (got out of it cause money wasn't great) and a wizard with Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop. Even though I have a high end Mac, I am to cheap to buy those programs at this point and I have really played with the cheap ones that I got for free on it:P

This could become kind of addictive!

The trouble is most of the book covers seem pretty hard to do in paint but I suppose half the charm is in their 8-bit glory!
I shall have another go soon I hope.

Garrell, Microsoft Paint shouldn't be too hard to come by, no?

Noal, let's challenge each other! I pick something for you to do, you pick something for me to do! Let's see ... I want you to do ...

The Waste Lands! The US first edition of course! Ha! Good luck :)

Do you mean the Jake and the doorkeeper one?

I was actually looking at that and thought I don't fancy that one!!
But a challenge is a challenge.

Gods this was hard!

I know the doorkeeper looks like a bag of chips(fries) but I tried my best and I can't do any more tweaking(my finger is killing me!)

I really hate wood!
The whole picture is nearly full of it.

noal

Yes, I have been busy so not had time really, but I hope to find time to do another soon!

The insomnia one was actually harder than it looks; I was only doing it as a joke!

noal
06-17-2012, 10:50 AM
Well, I've decided that I hate drawing people!
I've never been any good at it. This is to try and get the ball rolling again!

Does Mac have any painting programs? I haven't seen it yet but I haven't really looked.

Garrell

I have SketchbookExpress, but sux at it. Adobe Illostrator rox, but is too pricey to own, I could make carbon copies with it. It is what I used as a graphic artist.

Have you guys tried gimp. It is free and works really well. Me and my hubby use it for our letterheads and stuff like that.

Brice

Yes, Gimp is an awesome program. :)

Randall Flagg
06-19-2012, 06:10 AM
I think the idea is to only use Paint, as it is a terrible program, and thus makes recreating a cover very difficult.

Shannon
06-19-2012, 06:30 AM
I was just about to say that. :)

noal
06-19-2012, 09:05 AM
Perhaps you could start a new thread for GIMP users?

Er, it might not look right and you may receive some visitors you weren't expecting!

These are all ridiculously fantastic.

I bet you guys were the people in school that could work the heck out of an etch-a-sketch and the leave the rest of us sitting there with our endless squiggle, slack-jawed and speechless! hehe! I'm jealous, truly wonderful work.
